Bio

13 ON formed in 2002 and hailing from the Mississippi Gulf Coast became known early on for their energetic and entertaining live shows. In early 2005 the band released its debut CD of all original music and within a few weeks was approached to sign a promotional contract with Budweiser to be the Southeast Region Budweiser True Music Band.

Over the course of the next year the band played many shows in support of their Budweiser relationship and continued to gain the attention of the local music dignitaries. While hurricane Katrina temporarily put a hold on the bands progress, the time away from playing and the trials that each member and their families had to withstand only served to strengthen the band and increase their desire to get their music out to the public.

13 ON was named to headline both Rock nights at the first major public event to be held at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum after the storm, a two week annual festival that attracts numerous national and regional acts. Prior to the festival Budweiser and local radio station WCPR 97.9 held four weeks of competitions in order to pick four local bands that would open for 13 ON at the festival.

13 ON were to complete their Budweiser commitment in July of 2006 but not before being asked to play outdoors at the Coast Coliseum once again for the sold out crowd at the Lynyrd Skynyrd and 3 Doors Down concert.

Following this high point they immediately turned their creative energies towards writing the material for their second album. As the body of work came together something was becoming clear to the band members. Their original sound and song writing had changed. The new songs had a more cohesive, deeper and edgier sound. The energy of the new songs was palpable. The emotional commitment of the original album was still evident in the new songs but now the emotion hit you in the gut not just the heart. The new songs flat out rocked, and this made the band dig in with every thing they had to get ready for the studio.

In late October, 2007 the band headed for Nashville. They were invited to record their new album in ex-Doobie Brother, Michael McDonalds private studio with one of the most in demand engineers in Music City. The band hit the recording process running. They had the songs well rehearsed and were ready to get them down. 13 ON had high expectations for the songs but the quality of final product has surprised everyone involved with the project. This is an album that is likely to catch a lot of people by surprise, those that have known and supported the band since its start but also those who have not. It is scheduled for release in January of 2007.

After recording the album and while the disc was still undergoing final production the band headed up to Birmingham, Alabama were they were tapped to play at the Verizon Wireless Music Center prior to the Journey and Def Leppard concert. The show went off without a hitch and the band came home knowing they just completed one more step toward their destination.

The band is currently busy booking shows for the coming year and will embark on a regional tour in support of their new CD.

-The Band-

Trent Lee, Lead Vocals Trent hails from Gulfport, Mississippi. His father taught him to play guitar and sing at a young age. Being raised around the sounds of old country music but being a true rocker at heart, Trent draws his inspiration from a wide variety of musical fronts. His influences range from Merle Haggard to Aerosmith, Guns N Roses, Stone Temple Pilots and others who project their intensity for life and art through their music. Trents emotional and storytelling style of song writing reflects real life experiences that resonates deeply with a wide ranging audience.
Terry Kovacevich, Bass Although a Gulf Coast native, Terry grew up in Southern California. As a teen in San Diego, Terry switched from guitar to bass and began playing in bands as a way to get closer to the music he enjoyed. During his tenure in So. Cal. Terry held down the bottom while playing with several popular bands that toured the always active and competitive Los Angeles and San Diego club circuit. A few years ago, a longing to return to his roots brought him back to the Gulf Coast. His desire to continue pursuing his musical goals, lead him to form a new band that eventually became 13 ON.
Jamie Shaw, Drums Jamies love of music was fostered at an early age by his dad who was the bass player for a well known touring gospel act. He and 13 ON guitarist Phillip Stegall formed a band called Stone Cold Country in high school. He continued to develop his chops by playing with a number of local rock and country music bands around the coast. He toured for over five years as the drummer for a national act and his stint with that band is where he developed his love of the road.
