Standing Over Elvis

Written By: Paul Brand

Standing Over Elvis by Paul Brand

Remember I was ten
Dancing round the room
Me and Cousin Keith
Singing Teddy Bear
Lying with my Brother
Turned on the radio
Heard the news from Memphis
The King had lost his life

Oh I never thought I’d be
Standing over Elvis
In the Meditation Garden
Where they laid him down
I never thought I’d be
Standing over Elvis
There can only be one King
No one will ever take his crown

Black and white TV
See him shaking what he got
Making all those movies
For better for worse
See him decked in leather yeah
Singing for all he was worth
Too many nights in Vegas
Is that the King of rock and roll

Oh I never thought I’d be
Standing over Elvis….

Just past 31
Took a trip to Memphis
Headed out to Graceland
To hear what they had to say
Found myself alone
Standing over Elvis
In the Meditation Garden
Where they laid him down

Oh I never thought I’d be
Standing over Elvis….

Sunrise Sunset

Written By: Paul Brand

Sunrise Sunset by Paul Brand

Hold me close don’t let me go
Pick me up when I’m feeling low
While the world is crying
I know you’ll smile for me

The sun it rises and sets with you
No matter where I am
No matter what I do
As the years go by I know it’s true
The sun it rises and sets with you

Dance with me until the music stops
I’m going to love you till the wheels come off
If the flames are dying
Laughter and life will see me through

The sun it rises and sets with you
No matter where I am
No matter what I do
As the years go by I know it’s true
The sun it rises and sets with you

Take a little love
See how it grows
Take a little time
You never know

While the world is crying
I know you’ll smile for me

The sun it rises and sets with you
No matter where I am
No matter what I do
As the years go by I know it’s true
The sun it rises and sets with you

Rosarita

Written By: Paul Brand

Rosarita

Well I heard those trumpets blowing
As the boys danced with the senoritas
The sun was going down
As the moon began to shine
Talking Spanish yeah
And walking in the wrong direction
Watch out for those bandidos
They’ll take everything you’ve got

I went down to Rosarita
I thought I might see her
Went up to Tijuana
But the sun went down
Roamed the streets
Tres amigos
Tequila tecate and burritos
I saw her standing in the doorway
But the sun went down
Oh the sun went down

She took my hand
And she lead me through that doorway
Up those stairs
Into that hotel room
Slipped off her clothes
And she asked me what I wanted
I said, “fifteen minutes isn’t long”,
She said, “it’s all the time we’ve got”.

I went down to Rosarita
I thought I might see her
Went up to Tijuana
But the sun went down
Roamed the streets
Tres amigos
Tequila tecate and burritos
I saw her standing in the doorway
But the sun went down
Oh the sun went down

Just across the border
Not much money and not much time
Those Mexican senoritas
Sure were looking fine
Gloria loved me tender
But I must have been out of my mind
Went back to San Diego
We’d been up all night

I went down to Rosarita
I thought I might see her
Went up to Tijuana
But the sun went down
Roamed the streets
Tres amigos
Tequila tecate and burritos
I saw her standing in the doorway
But the sun went down
Oh the sun went down
I went down to Rosarita

Ten Minute Man

Written By: Paul Brand

Ten Minute Man

Oh is he the man of your dreams
Well he looks pretty good to me
Yeah he’s got such a charming smile
And he’s always got a girl by his side
Say you’d like to spend some time with him
Oh he’s quite the gentleman Jim

Tem minute man
He’ll tell you that he loves you
Oh and that he understands
Ten minute man
He’ll be in and out your door before he’s warmed his hands
Ten minute man

Oh he’s taking you out tonight
Yeah that’s if he can spare the time
Oh he’ll take you to a place that he knows
Yeah that’s where he takes all of his girls
And when he’s had enough to drink
Oh he’ll kiss you once or twice then fall asleep

Tem minute man
He’ll tell you that he loves you
Oh and that he understands
Ten minute man
He’ll be in and out your door before he’s warmed his hands
Ten minute man

Oh she expected so much more
Than a selfish ego and a bore
Oh and as she lives and learns
Well he’ll put her name down on the list

Tem minute man
He’ll tell you that he loves you
Oh and that he understands
Ten minute man
He’ll be in and out your door before he’s warmed his hands
Ten minute man
Tem minute man
He’ll tell you that he loves you
Oh and that he understands
Ten minute man
He’ll be in and out your door before he’s warmed his hands
Ten minute man

What Do You Want For Christmas

Written By: Paul Brand

What do you want what do you want for Christmas
What do you want what do you want for Christmas

What do you want for Christmas this year?
Peace on earth is out of the question
Terrorists and politicians wont stop messing
What do you want for Christmas this year?

Who will you be with on Christmas Eve?
Children and your friends, sisters and your brothers
Daddy isn’t talking to your mother
What do you want for Christmas this year?

Do you have someone to kiss under the mistletoe?
Will you drink until you drop to make it all more bearable
What do you want for Christmas this year?

When Christmas is over will you have a happy new year?
Thinking about the past returning all your presents
Talk about the future there’s no point guessing
What do you want for Christmas this year?

Who will you be with on New Years Eve?
Can’t control the kids your sisters and your brothers
Daddy he’s kissing with your best friend’s mother
What do you want for Christmas this year?

Do you have someone to kiss under the mistletoe?
Will you drink until you drop to make it all more bearable
What do you want for Christmas this year?
Oh oh oh oh oh oh

What do you want what do you want for Christmas
What do you want what do you want for Christmas
What do you want what do you want for Christmas
What do you want what do you want for Christmas
What do you want what do you want for Christmas

What do you want for Christmas, this year?
