Ne' Richa

Ne’ Richa is a Hip Hop/R&B artist and producer. Her company is LiteShado Productions, and she specialize in a sound that she feel is exclusive and special. She’s been writing and producing since the age of 11, and DJing since 16. Her goal as an artist is to reincarnate music that helps the listener to feel and be in touch with their feelings, raw and truthfully. She doesn’t compromise the core intent to make the listener to dance and enjoy life, and lyrically, her goal is to excel with an animated and attention grabbing delivery. - Bianca Bee

Coming to you from Erie, PA is a very talent female DJ & MC by the name of Ne’Richa. Born Natalie Richmond, known to her listeners at WERG (90.5fm) as DJ Nilla, this young lady is an empire in the making. I had the pleasure of talking to her and her love of the craft and music is an astounding breath of fresh air. From the age of 5, Ne’Richa knew that she wanted to perform, but not for fame or money, but because of the love and respect of hip-hop. She steps outside the box creating beats and lyrics that are brimming with honest emotions, messages, and combinations that one would have never fathomed to marry.

Since her first official show in 2002 at the JFK Center, and airing her own show in 2007 at WERG, she has been mesmerizing audiences with her unpredictable, animated, legacy creating style. Since Dec 2009, she has released (approximately) 20 mixtapes. Inspired by the truthful, poetic overtones of Tupac combined with her admiration of music as a whole, Ne’Richa is currently in the studio working on what is destined to be a spectacular “introduction” ‘Late For Class’. She is also working on a collab ‘Abstract Exodus’ that she describes as having an 80’s vibe with a futuristic twist.

Throughout our conversation, I was amazed at her wealth of knowledge of hip-hop that derived before her time. Not only does she have aspirations to become a prolific female MC, but she understands and is enthused about being a role model. Ne’Richa believes that as a female MC, it is her duty to keep the genre grounded stating that, “we have to bring the balance back’. Currently, she is working on starting her own production company and by the end of her career she wants to have a record label, screenwriting and directing firmly planted on her resume. Would you expect any less from an artist who desires to collaborate with Prince, Erykah Badu, Kanye West and Jay-Z? What more could you ask for from a woman who prides herself with bringing wisdom and guidance back into society through her craft?
