"1Point25's 'Canyon Wide' marks a new beginning"

Sunday, August 14, 2005

By JOLENE CRAIG

PARKERSBURG - Local Christian band, 1Point25, moves from live performances to selling albums with the release of ''Canyon Wide.''

1Point25 has released ''Canyon Wide'' with the intent of extending the Christian faith through music, one soul at a time.

A very mellow acoustic tone fits perfectly in the homage-paying track ''The God of Me.''

This stunning track is the best of the album with the simple acoustic guitar and Donna's harmonious vocals dubbed several times.

''The God of Me'' needs to be experienced, not read about.

The last days of the world come in with heavy guitar and percussion in ''Me, Myself and I Am.''

This very dark and mysterious track tells about how the people of the world need God in the end and with the imagination Wayne uses with the heavy percussion and the harsh guitars one can almost see the fires.

The vocals on this CD are absolutely amazing and with the different styles everything works wonders. - The Parkersburg News

Discography

Our first CD, Canyon Wide has been heard on WTLC in Illinois, WRRR in WV and WFHB in Indiana.

'The Blood' has had local airplay on WRRR-FM and 'Me, Myself, and I Am' is our most downloaded song on iTunes.
We won Battle of the Bands on zbands.com in January 2005 with 'Praise Him'. "Praise Him' and 'Family Reunion' are our two most downloaded songs on the web. 'God of Me' is a crowd favorite, along with the 'soon to be recorded' tune called 'Be Glad.'

We are scheduled to record a 4 or 5 song EP in late 2006. The EP will be produced by friend and 'producer extaordinaire', Dave F, who is Lorrie Morgan's Tour Manager and Dolly Parton's Road manager..

Bio

About 95% of people tell us that we do not sound like anybody else. We have been influenced by many styles of music from metal to classical.

We strive to keep away from a 'canned' sound that is continually heard on the radio. We also seek to have live events that include a band that is genuine and real and is not out to preach, but to share a positive message in song.

The 2006 Tour has taken us into several states and we have seen one general concensus. People are shying away from church, as it has been a place for hurts and judgement.
