“2112” – A Tribute To Rush

Bio

David Jaedyn Conley (Guitar, Vocals, Keyboards)

David Jaedyn Conley is a resident of both Australia and the United States and is currently completing his PhD in Music at the University of Melbourne Australia. Primarily a film composer, David spends most of his time in the studio when away from the band. David also earned his Masters Degree in music from the University of Melbourne, and his Bachelors Degree in music at Seattle’s Cornish College of the Arts. David has been playing guitar for 32 years and credits Rush as being “one of my most profound musical influences”.

David recently won “Best Original Musical Score” at the Animadness film festival, which is the world’s largest film festival for animation. He also owns and operates “Mydnyte Productions” which both an agency producing original music by independent artists, and an independent record label specializing is music by Pacific Northwest artists.

John Rhodes (Bass, Keyboards)

John hails from Big Sky country in Montana, arriving in the Puget Sound area in 1995. Like his two brothers before him, John started out on drums. Rather than fuel the sibling rivalry, John switched to bass and really took off. At 13, he was playing professional gigs; by 16, winning state-wide competitions playing Billy Sheehan solos. John’s been playing professionally ever since.

Along with Sheehan, Geddy Lee was the major influence on John’s playing, so it’s only natural to now be paying tribute in 2112. ‘Freewill’ was the first Rush song that really connected with John, both lyrically and musically. Other favorites are Big Money, Show Don’t Tell, Totem, Alien Shore, and Ceiling Unlimited.

Gary Guzman, (Drums and Percussion)

Gary Guzman is probably one of Pierce County’s most sought after drummers. Gary judges Guitar Center’s annual “Drum Off” and plays with various ensembles and groups around the Tacoma/Seattle area. Known for his ability to play complex time signatures and his technical ability as both a drummer and percussionist, Gary has played for everything including the Tacoma Youth Symphony, as well as the Nick Tesla band, a Tacoma mainstay for more than 20 years. Gary is certainly a world-class drummer and brings a level of distinction to “2112” that only Neil Peart himself could hope to provide.
