"Good Times Magazine Review"

One thing is for sure about Long Island; Guitar rock is never ever going to die in these parts. The hair turns gray, the stomachs protrude well over the belt lines but the amps always go to11.
231, a Great Neck based quartet that bills it's sound as " hard rock music old school style" delivers eight tracks here that pretty much deliver just that; think Mountain crossed with Bad Company. By that, we mean the proceedings here are a lot more tasteful than one might expect, with thoughtful lyrics merged with layers of earnestly played rock guitar.
This band is comprised of Jim DellaRatta and Chuck Neuman on guitars, Paul Deltieure on bass, and Bruce Diehm on drums. There are eight tracks here, all of which never let up in their quest to offer 70's style guitar rock. The lengthy " Moving Violation" which closes the disc, offers a chugging Zeppelin-like rhythym and a stern vocal - " Yuo're still not letting me go", you awful girl- and harmony vocals. However, the album opener " Never To Old To Rock" could certainly serve as this bands theme song, since even a cursory glance at the cover art shows there's not a spring chicken in the bunch- a fact the band wears on it's collective sleeve with pride. Other song titles include "New York is Killing Me Slowly", "Don't Treat Me Like An Enemy", and the churning "Nothings Ever Guaranteed".

Bio

231 is a band made up of 4 veterans to the music industry. They have been playing music for over 30 years in many different bands. In 2004 these 4 guys formed 231. Putting together a classic style original band with a 70's feel. A couple of their songs were featured as Billboard Magazine Honorable Mentions when they were written years ago. The song writing team of Paul and Chuck have been together since the 70's writing more than 100 songs. Jim and Bruce joined the band and they took the top songs and made them sound more today but keeping the 70's style. Catchy riffs and sing along choruses make them stand out from the others. These guys are very professional on and off the stage. You can tell in the song writing ability. Good Times Magazine reviewed them as " tasteful with thoughtful lyrics merged with layers of earnestly played rock guitar".
