23rd Hour

23rd Hour

23rd hour is a band that takes worship to the next level. They bring a fresh outlook on what worship music has traditionally been. Amidst a culture that seeks to glorify self, 23rd Hour has stepped up to glorify the only one who is truly worthy, Jesus Christ.

23rd Hour is a Rock Worship band hailing from the St. Louis metro area. They have from the beginning set themselves apart from the local music scene. The band has clearly made its mission to lead as many people in genuine worship of Jesus Christ as possible. 23rd Hour has been influenced by such mainstream Christian bands such as the David Crowder Band, Building 429, Jeremy Camp and many others.

23rd Hour found its beginnings in the bedroom of its drummer late in the summer of 2002. The band was originally formed to lead worship for its church's youth group gathering. At this point the band was a three piece. Danny McBride on guitar, Bryan Fulton on Bass, and Robbie Phillips on Drums. In December of 2002, the band met its future lead singer and guitar player Daniel Duncan. A few months later the band would add an additional guitar player, David Beasley.

The band has found itself ministering heavily throughout the St. Louis metro area in the short time that it has been around. They lead weekly youth services and have done many youth events such as the 30 hour famine, New Years lockins, True Love Waits rallies, School Christian Club events and many many more. The band has played at St. Louis area coffehouses Kingdom Treasures and Solid Rock Coffee House. 23rd hour has also had the privilege of playing many music festivals such as Bridgefest, RiveRock, and Mosaic fest.

During the summer of 2003 the band decided to make some recordings of a few of their songs and wound up with Last of All. Last of All was a three song demo of songs we had written such as worship songs My Heart and God's Grace. When the summer of 2004 came 23rd Hour became very serious about getting their music into the hands of its fans. So went into the studio and recording My God. This too featured some newer worship songs such as My God and This Still Voice. The band has also been blessed to see its songs used in Sunday morning worship service at many churches and feel honored to see its music help lead others to worship.

Right Now the band is continuing to write new music for a full length release in early 2005 and look worship to sharing their heart with as many as possible.

My God

Written By: Daniel Duncan

vs 1: I bow down at Your feet/ So tired and broken/ I'm searching for the answers/ And the way to Your heart/ The burden is so heavy/ And the road so long/ But Your grace it surrounds me/ And Your glory falls//cho: And I will lift my hands to You/ To worship all You are/ Give You the glory/ For all that You've down/ Forever I will sing/ Forever stand in awe/ King of glory/ You are my God//v2: I come into Your presence/ Humbled and undone/ I cry out for Your mercy/ and a love so undeserved/ Please send Your glory/ And let Your Spirit fall/ For Your grace it surrounds me/ And the heavens fall

Broken Wings

Written By: Daniel Duncan

He looks inside and asks why it hurts
So bad, It tears his soul apart
To think, he'd come so far
And now he lies on the floor and screams

I bow down on my knees
And I cry Lord take me please
Will you take me as I am
Will you heal these broken wings

She stares at the wall, wondering what life's all about
What of tomorrow, what if tomorrow never comes
One more time, how could You still love me
Her soul cries out, will You heal me

The Heavens Declare

Written By: Daniel Duncan

Father of glory I come to you humbly
To offer my life wholly to You
King of glory you are so holy
And I come to worship you

And we offer up to you this song of praise
And we humbly give to this life of praise

And the heavens declare you are worthy of praise
And your glorious name we lift on high
All the nations will sing to bring glory to your name
All we have we bring Lord most high

King of majesty you are so worthy
And your glory fills the earth
Lord most holy we adore thee
Come meet us in this place
