2AM
UNTITLED
Self-Released

With a name like 2AM, you'd expect some chilled-out, mellowing-toward-dawn type songs, right? Well, this erstwhile supergroup has other plans - comprised of Bryan and Ryan McMasters from Lotus Netti and Adam Aguilar and Austin Speer from Sub Roza, there's more rocking than relaxing on the menu here.

This six-song EP features ample doses of the crunchy melodics favored by both of these local staples - according to the band's MySpace page site, "focusing on the hear of the song" with 2AM and have wrought six sizzling tracks ("I See You," "Promises") that bubble over with a giddy fizz and hearty grit that should translate well live.

The side project has a fair number local gigs scheduled in the coming weeks - check out either myspace.com/2amband or 2amband.com for more information. - Preston Jones

The same energy and balance that marks their live shows comes through in each of these recordings! These tunes reveal the remarkable talent of all four musicians who have come together to produce a sound and vitality somewhat reminiscent of the best years of Atlanta Rhythm Section yet unique in its sound and impact. With this debut album, this young band is set to make a large mark with a blend of rock, blues, and jazz. The first night I heard them live, I came right home and downloaded all six songs. Having caught their live act there is no doubt in my mind that this band will wear well and continue to expand its fan base. - Brett

“It’s 2AM, but this has nothing to do with time.”
Oklahoma City’s super-group 2AM on their way to DFest 2007
By B.

Preston Jones said it right, “With a name like 2AM, you’d expect some chilled-out, mellowing-toward-dawn type music. There’s more rocking than relaxing on the menu here.” 2AM proves t hat with their soulful vocals of front-man Adam Aguilar, nasty bass lines by Austin Speer and the crazy twin brothers that somehow pull off this magical hilarious night, Ryan McMasters on drums and Bryan McMasters on guitar.

2AM will be playing Saturday July 28th on Diversafest’s Arnies Performance Stage at 10PM and will have plenty of time to show what 2AM is all about.

-So your off to Diversafest 2007, are you guys excited?
Adam: As Oklahomans we are proud of the fact that Tulsa has been able to establish such a great music conference and festival, and it’s definitely an honor to be able to be a part of something like that. It’s a great opportunity for everyone involved.

-What can we expect at show on Saturday at Arnies?
Adam & Austin: We will be having blast as usual. You can expect to hear high energy and most importantly…great original music.

-What do you want Dfest fans and other bands to get from this show?
Adam & Bryan: As far as the bands, we hope they will want to network with us. We would love nothing more than for DFest fans to leave Arnies impressed with the show. Hopefully fans that never seen us or heard of us will leave the show as fans of our band.

-Do you have any surprises for the people at DFest?
Bryan, Ryan and Austin: Bryan’s Aaron Neville impersonation and of course we can’t really tell you or it wouldn’t be a surprise now would it? But sometimes we surprise ourselves, so who knows.

- While your at Dfest, what bands or soloists are you going to see?
The full band: There are some great bands we would like to see, but Radio Radio, Blackstone Cherry, Amos Lee, Albert Aguilar and Hero Factor especially since the Hero Factor plays at Arnies right after us.

-What’s next for 2AM?
The full band: We're going to keep playing and writing music. A new album or EP is on the horizon, its slow process but we feel it will be worth the wait.

If you miss 2AM at Dfest, you can catch them traveling the midwest or digitally on a few websites: 2AMBand.com, Myspace.com/2amband, CDBaby.com/cd/2amband or get their CD on iTunes. - Bently

Bio

“With a name like 2AM, you’d expect some chilled-out, mellowing-toward-dawn type music. There’s more rocking than relaxing on the menu here.”* 2AM proves that with their soulful vocals of front-man Adam Aguilar, nasty bass lines by Austin Speer and the talented twin brothers, Ryan McMasters on drums and Bryan McMasters on guitar.

2AM individually were a part of two Oklahoma's most well known bands. Bryan & Ryan McMasters - members of Lotus Netti, and Adam Aguilar & Austin Speer - members of Sub Roza. They came together out of a need for change, and are certainly achieving that.

The band officially formed in February of 2005, and quickly began brainstorming ideas and writing material. Concerned with focusing on the heart of the song, it has become easy for the band members to hone their sound. Of course, there is still much more work to be done, but they are definitely on the right track. Production on their debut, self-titled CD, which consisted of six songs, in early August of 2005, and released it in mid-November 2005, had huge raves and consistently played on the radio in Oklahoma City with their three hit songs, I See You, Running In Circles and Save Me.

2AM has played over 300 shows and music festivals between 2006-2007 like the showcases at HyperActive Music Festival07 and DiversaFest07(Dfest) sharing the stage with many great artists like, Gooding, Ian Moore, Hanson, Hero Factor, Aranda, No More Kings, The Angel/Devil and many more. They plan on slowing down a little in the Fall of 2007 to record and produce their long awaited second album.
