"2 Hot 2 Sweat: Your Space or Mine"

Matt and Mia are the sweaty ones and this single should be daytime radio playlisted in artrock heaven and chanted by every teenage Artrocker. A-side of a great debut single courtesy of NROne records. Just can't wait to see them at the club on 24th June. - Artrocker Magazine

"Single of the Week: Your Space or Mine"

I'm such a kid... I'm chuckling at the 2 Hot 2 Sweat lyric "I've got big boobies, you want to touch them..." I'm a sucker for a good pair of norks me. Hey I'm male.. so shoot me. 'Your Space Or Mine' is a catchy oldskool U.S guitar indie with a pop sensibility and some nice jerky repetition. Phil says it reminds him of that Manic Cough single from a few months back. It's a cheeky, fast, punchy indie pop thing that our Brian reckons is ace. The b-side has a high pitched male vocal over organ and drum machine. A charming little single on NR One Records. Clear vinyl 7" with mp3 download code.

"Lonely Ghosts + Pope Joan + 2 Hot 2 Sweat @ Buffalo Bar - June 24 2008"

2 HOT 2 SWEAT (London)
From the already impressive roster of artists on NROne records (Violet Violet, The Brownies) of Norwich, 2 HOT are just Mia and Matt exchanging plenty of call and response vocals, keyboards, guitar, cheap drum machine and programming. Those bemoaning the absence of Tigerforce, LeTigre or inaccessibility of Deathset, look no further than the punk-pop tunes landing as abrasive as Yeah Yeah Yeahs but dancable as CSS. The debut single 'Your space or mine' NROne Records Was a brilliant take on the dominance and dangers of the online community and a wonky electro art-punk classic which we included immediately on the Artrocker Un-signed Volume 4 CD this month. Lo-fi, even twee, but with plenty of mashed-up attitude and tunes. - www.artrocker.com

"2 Hot 2 Sweat: Half-Assed Rom-Com"

This is a broodingly dirty electro pop ditty, a tongue in cheek dance anthem and an ode to fleeting and often regrettable office romances. A Day-Glo Mork and Mindy for the post-myspace generation, 2 Hot 2 Sweat have been ticking all the right boxes with the likes of Dandelion Radio, Huw Stepehens and Tom and William Ravenscroft since they began putting their ludicrous musical notions into practise and released the results on an unsuspecting and often undeserving public. B side “Office Drone” is a twisted electro journey through a typical day at the office, and makes me think that 2 Hot 2 Sweat could be the perfect blind date for Cambridge's own Casio outlaws, The Vichy Government. “Boy girl two-piece twin set electro acoustic disco twee dirty bitchslap mash-up pretty little synth melodic pounding off key off colour pop music... yes please!” said the Fly.
And how can I compete with that? - Repeat

Bio

Pop melodies, disco beats and jagged guitars with biting lyrics and wilful experimentation…

…Not to mention a dash of shambolic choreography, kitsch costume and audience participation…

2Hot2Sweat make wonky-electro-pop. They love bleeps, beats and thrashings. They're sweet and sour. Acerbic and angelic. They love each other so much they got married and now they're airing all their dirty laundry in public. And in jumpsuits.

It all started in Norwich, with a smattering of live shows and the recording of a demo, which pricked up the ears of BBC Radio 1's new music aficionado Huw Stephens. Internet radio station Dandelion Radio were also quick to catch on to the Sweat Movement, awarding the ‘Sweat the title of 'Best New Band of 2007’ in their end of year poll. They soon upped sticks for the bright lights of London to win over the denizens of the capital with a cheerful disregard for good fashion sense and captivating stage show.

Debut single 'Your Space or Mine' was released in March 2008 on the delicious NROne Records, followed by dancefloor filler and ode to the disappointments of dating - 'Half-Assed Rom-Com' in October. The singles, plus a string of live appearances in London, won the hearts of several musical luminaries including Radio One's Huw Stephens, BBC6 Music's Tom Robinson, Artrocker Magazine and Tom and William Ravenscroft. The release of Half-Assed Rom-Com coincided with the band's live show at BBC Merseyside as part of the BBC Electric Proms festival, where they were honoured to be picked as part of the line up for the legendary John Peel night by his family.

In Summer 2009 the 'Sweat recorded a live session for BBC Radio 1's Huw Stephens show, and played a storming set on the Radio 1 stage at Latitude Festival. Mini album 'rarararararaRA!' was released early this year to much acclaim and excitement.

2010 saw the launch of 2H2S's hugely popular London clubnight - Pet Sounds - which plays host to live bands, an animal themed disco and London's first Pet Quiz, and the launch of their very own label - Pets Love Disco.

Just three months into 2011 and they're already having their best year yet. Their latest single, Rude Dog, has been unleashed on the british public to rave reviews. It's had radio play on BBC Radio One, 6Music and XFM from DJs including Huw Stephens, Steve Lamacq, Nemone, Tom Robinson and has even been playlisted by Topshop Radio. The band are currently preparing for a summer of live shows and festival appearances and they can't wait to sweat in a venue near you.
