Bio

2LUE

• Has had a long and interesting time in the music industry. He began his music career at the tender age of 4. Traveling with his uncle “Rock & Roll Hall of Famer”, “Dr. Bill Pinkney” of the “Original Drifters”, 2LUE got his chance in Stone Mountain Ga (1985), 2LUE ran on stage grabbed the microphone from his uncle, and began to sing in front of an audience of 10,000+. A star was born.
• 2LUE got his first keyboard at the age of 6, began to make beats and write jingles. By the age of 7, he was the designated party dj.
• “One interesting thing I will never forget about my journey into the entertainment field”. I remember being in the second grade, and having to recite something at black history month program. My teacher prepared me for a month to say I wanted to be a lawyer when I grow up. But when it was time for me to speak. I got up there and said “I want to be a rapper when I grow up”. Of course I got pinched afterwards, but it shows what I knew at the time. “Music”
• “I learned a lot of things from just being around industry people and absorbing good music, plus my mom sang too.”
• I even worked a dishwasher job at the age of 15 and bought my own keyboard and drum machine, started making beats and also started TNT Productions / Dynamite Records. People thought I was crazy for spending $200 on a Roland E-16 at the time.
• By the age of 16, word was getting out that 2LUE made tracks, and caught the attention of Big Maine, CEO / Confeddy Records
• Signed Contract w/ Confeddy Records 1997- Released “I Got Dat Green” (1999) a meteoric growing local hit. Confeddy Dismissed and I was back to the drawing board w/ TNT Productions.
• Afterwards, I produced tracks for other local artists and released several local cd’s, which made no noise.
• “I thought people around me could rap for real”; I was always in the studio, making tracks. But when I took a break from the music, back in 2001, I realized that these were clones of other rappers personality. This disturbed me because I sacrificed from listening to other music, so that I could come up with something unfamiliar, that we could sell. I’m like –I can do this too.
• Plus the rap industry became tremendously flooded, leaving not so much air to breath, even for veteran rappers. We were running out of time. So I hopped on the bandwagon, hoping to make the same bucks, and capture a national audience.
• 2005 Decided it was time to pickup mic, after hearing lots music, that just wasn’t supposed to succeed.
• Got the “Bessemer Super Highway” album complete feat. “Fiend / formerly of No Limit Records”
• Got the new summer single “Pimp2APimp” feat. “Tela” & “The Last Mr. Bigg(poppin my colla)” guaranteed to storm the waves this upcoming season.
