Lyrics

Coconut

Written By: Satoru Isaka

Walking down on a dirt road
Sun is hot in Salvador
A man with machete
chopping green round things

(chorus)
Coconut, hey coconut
You sooth my soul
Coconut, hey coconut
You fill my void
Hey Coconut

Wasting time on a sleepy day
Air is wet in Nha Trang Bay
A child with a basket
Carrying brown round things

[chorus repeat]

Strolling along on a white sand
In Yasawa island
A wind blowing trees
Shaking big round things

[chorus repeat]

Fifty Years of Joy and Sorrow

Written By: Satoru Isaka

Fifty years of joy and sorrow
Lived on a wheel of hope for tomorrow
Cheers and tears, pain and gain
I’ve seen all the colors in rain

Sweet smell of dust and rain
Lived in the land of a just disdain
Greed and fear, love and hate
Life is a willow in winds of fate

Another season coming
Rain and shine
Tides will come and go
Waste no moment in time I borrowed

No dreams or roads to follow
Played the game of life in a hollow
Wheel and deal, fame and shame
Too many errors but who’s to blame

Fifty years of joy and sorrow
Lived in a shell of time I borrowed
Real and fake, give and take
What I give is the difference I make

Another season coming
Rain and shine
Tides will come and go
Waste no moment in time I borrowed

Too Old Too Late

Written By: Satoru Isaka

Is reflection real, or is it just an image
When you see a picture, can you tell what is real

The sky is not blue when I cry, but the sun keeps on shining
I’ve been told I’m too old to dream
It’s too late for my songs, they say

Too old, too late, to sing my songs
Too old, too late, to dream my dreams
But there’s more to the picture than images to the eyes
And that’s why I keep trying, as long as my life goes on

Is reflection real, or is it just an illusion
In the world full of images, do you know what is real

The sea is high when I’m down, but the waves keep on coming
I’ve been told I’m too old to dream
But too young to die, they say

Too old, too late, to sing my songs
Too old, too late, to dream my dreams
But there’s more to my songs than melodies and words
And that’s why I keep trying, as long as my life goes on

You are The One

Written By: Satoru Isaka

I may be the one, to open the doors
But you are the one, to take steps
I may be the one, to show you the stars
But you are the one, to be one
There’s so much I want to show you, to help you grow
But sometimes it’s better that you go find your own stars

I may be the one, to write you songs
But you are the one, to sing your tunes
I may be the one, to give you the tools
But you are the one, to use them
There’s so much I want to give you, to make you happy
But sometimes it’s better that you go find what you are looking for

It’s not always easy, to find your love
It’s not fun getting up, when you fall down
But remember, I’m always in your heart, so believe in yourself
There’s so much I want to tell you, and to be with you
But sometimes it’s better, that you go on your way

I may be the one, to bring you the light
But you are the one, to find your way in the dark
I may be the one, to bring you the world
But you are the one, to show them who you are
There’s so much I want to tell you and to be with you
But sometimes it’s better, that you go on your way

Born In Peace

Written By: Satoru Isaka

Born in peace
Raised with love
Troubled soul
Ran away

Crossed the sea
To the land of the free
Lost in words
Carried away

Sailed the waves
Strummed six strings
High with friends
Wasted away

Running water
Food on a table
Presumed privilege
Taken away

Walked for miles
Searched for a grail
Dream of yesterday
Faded away

Born in peace
Still searching
Lost in doubt
Drifting away

When Green Turns Brown

Written By: Satoru Isaka

When green turns brown
And falls to the ground
Listen, listen to the wind
For a message it brings

If you, if you give up
Your dream will die
But the dream will live
If you, if you believe

When gold turns gray
And hides the stars away
Listen, listen to the trees
For a message they agree

Things may seem out, out of your hand
Beyond your wish
But things are in your hand
More than, way more than you think.

My Love Song

Written By: Satoru Isaka

[1]
Every time I sing for you a love song that someone else wrote,

I wonder if you believe what it says in the song.

There are so many love songs by Croce, Elton or Lennon.

But when I sing their songs, I feel like I’m giving you a second-hand car.

So I wrote this song, just for you.

It’s not fancy, just a simple list of our love we share.

the beer we brewed.
the boat we sailed.
the world we trekked.
the kids we raised.

the coffee in the morning.
the soda with lime at night.
the salsa you make.
and the songs I sing.

[2]
Words don’t come easy, though I try.

I only have images of our past and wishful future.

There are so many love songs, maybe I can borrow some of their words.

But you know it’s funny, none of their words suits my love.

So I wrote this song, just for you.

It’s not fancy, just a simple list of our love we share.

the beer we brewed, together.
the boat we sailed, together.
the world we trekked, together.
the kids we raised.

the coffee in the morning.
the soda with lime at night.
the salsa you make.
and the songs I sing.
