Japan's Nayutawave Records, a subsidiary label of Universal Music Japan, has set an October 22 release date for its upcoming METALLICA tribute album, "Metal-Ikka" (literally meaning "The Metal Family" — bad pun indeed).
Apart from the Japanese metal veterans OUTRAGE, all the bands featured on the album are not "heavy metal" bands, though they show respect for METALLICA in their own ways.
"Metal-Ikka" track listing is as follows:

All the bands are Japanese except California's INSOLENCE, who toured Japan with the organizer of this tribute album project, 10-FEET, in March this year.
10-FEET vocalist/guitarist Takuma says: "I've listened to a lot of METALLICA tribute albums — some are good and some are not. I'd say this album turned out to be a really good and interesting one, and I'm proud of that. Each and every track is great and I was especially impressed with the last two tracks. 2side1BRAIN's 'St. Anger' — I just can't get it off my head. OUTRAGE's 'Fight Fire with Fire' sounds more METALLICA than METALLICA and it completely blew me away!"
As previously reported, the OUTRAGE track was recorded in July at Sound Farm Studio in Jamaica, Iowa, where SLIPKNOT recorded its new album "All Hope Is Gone".
OUTRAGE is currently working on material for its new album, which is expected to be recorded this winter.

2Side1BRAIN is one of Japan’s top Emo/Screamo bands. Hailing from, Okinawa, a small island in the south of Japan, the band’s music reflects their environment through a marriage of Japanese intensity, island attitude, and American cultural influence. They have gained massive popularity over the last 4 years, since the band’s formation, having sold out shows at multiple large venues throughout Asia. Since the release of their most recent album, “Singing Like Flood”, they have received top rankings in CD sales as well multiple accolades, including 1st place in the EMO/SCREAMO ranking of MySpace Japan.
2side1BRAIN formed in July of 2003. They began playing shows on their home island of Okinawa, Japan both in local clubs and U.S. military bases. In 2004, 2side1BRAIN toured with the GARLIC BOYS, playing shows throughout Japan. The tour culminated in a sold out show at the Shibuya Chelsea Hotel in Tokyo. All 1000 copies of their first demo sold out during this tour.
2side1BRAIN was featured in 2 compilations in 2005, [MABUI] on CrownRecords and [TOTAL STEEL OKINAWA] on 413Records. They headlined a festival on Kadena Air Base, the biggest U.S. military facility in Okinawa. As the band's popularity grew in Okinawa, they decided to expand playing everywhere they could, including hardcore, punk, and metal events. The year ended with an 8 show winter tour of the Tokyo and Osaka regions of mainland Japan.
In 2006, 2side1BRAIN mourned the loss of a member, but still appeared for a main event in Okinawa.
2side1BRAIN played the MAGMA one day HardcoreFestival in Okinawa in 2007. They shared the stage with New York legends HARLEY'S WAR (featuring Harley Flanagan of Cro Mags fame), MADBALL, The Bouncing Souls, H2O, UNDERDOG and Murphy's Law. New friendships were born. In July, production of their first album began in Studio
In 2008, 2side1BRAIN received 1st place in the EMO/SCREAMO ranking of MySpace JAPAN. In March, they toured the three major cities of Taiwan, headlining all three shows. Many Taiwanese and Japanese bands were also showcased during this tour. 2side1BRAIN finished the tour at "The Wall" with a Taiwanese band called "The Hindsight". In April, 2side1BRAIN headlined the event ROCKREALIZE08 that was held in Naha, Okinawa, with FAKEKINGZ and ROACH. This was a sold out event.
