Otis is currently in the studio recording their first LP with a targeted release date of Spring 2012. Sound Engineer and owner of Freedom Productions Studios, Chris Mitchell has this to say about the band: "These young men have impressed me. I am excited to be producing and engineering this extremely talented and driven band." Coming from an industry veteran with over 30 years in the biz, this is quite a compliment!

Bio

From the small Southern Kentucky town of Glasgow, we bring you OTIS! A heavy blues trip infused with classic hard rock rhythms, powerful guitars and soulful vocals.

Fueled by a passion to carry on traditions by staying true to their heavy blues roots, Otis has added their own modern flair and energy to create a unique, new, and updated original sound. This three piece original music power trio is fused together by the talents of singer/songwriter/guitarist Boone Froggett, bass player John Mark Seeley, and drummer Andrew Gilpin.

Otis originally began to develop over six years ago, when Boone Froggett and John Mark Seeley met at a family wedding where Boone's father was performing with his band. Boone and John decided to get together and jam once in a while. The more they jammed, the more they realized they had something very special and unique in their sound and chemistry. Not unlike many bands though, they have faced lineup changes and monetary challenges. Never giving up, they have recently added Andrew Gilpin, an extremely talented young showman on the drums.

Otis has been invited to share the stage with many national and internationally successful bands, some of which include: BlackStone Cherry, The Kentucky Headhunters, Rufus Huff and The Fender Benders, a regional favorite. Sharing stage time on multiple occasions with these bands has developed into some long lasting relationships and has provided these young men with some very talented, seasoned veterans as mentors. Many local and regional publications have featured Otis in artist spotlights and articles, including “In The Ampllifier” and “Down Home Magazine”. No stranger to the airwaves, the trio has also been featured on multiple occasions on Radio D-93 "Home Cookin' With Tommy Starr" (Bowling Green, KY) and have received additional airplay on WPTQ 103.7 “The Point” (Cave City, KY).

Performing in their hometown and nearby, Otis has quickly developed an extremely diverse fan base. Their live show delights fans from 8 to 80, and from many backgrounds. During performances, it is their mission to make their fans feel as if they were performing for them personally...and they are! Promising to excite their fans at live shows, these guys definitely deliver. The proof is positive when you bear witness to the crowd going wild when frontman Boone Froggett plays guitar with his teeth!

When asked what it is that drives Otis in what is such a difficult time for musicians to survive on their talents, Boone offers the following: "There is less and less REAL music being produced these days and so much of it is processed and fake. We want to give music lovers something real and legit." Pushing forward, Otis is currently in the studio recording their first album, with a targeted release date of early Spring 2012. They are performing live shows on a vigorous schedule and are a repeat request to perform for Kentucky Blues Society shows. What does Otis have their sights set on? It seems to be unanimous amongst the guys that their main goal is to accomplish their mission of delivering original, real, true music to the masses...Music with meaning, that isn't manufactured or over processed. Following their targeted Spring 2012 release, the band is planning a tour of the Midwest and Southern United States with additional stops in other select regions. They are particularly excited about playing some great musical festivals this season. Says Bassist, John Mark Seeley, “with such a diverse fan base, playing festivals is great for us. Where else can you play for such a varied group of true music lovers?!”

In the meantime, check them out on Facebook, ReverbNation and SonicBids, while you're at it, drop in and say hello, they'd love to hear from you. Thanks for listening!
