34 BLISS - Born & Built in Detroit

34 BLISS NOW IN TOP GEAR
Born & built in Detroit, 34 Bliss brings the Motor City alive with straight up rock & roll. A diverse group of young Detroit musical talents, they build unique addicting blocks of feel confident, feel good, sexy, intense rock and deliver hope, inspiration and optimism.

Music Connection Magazine (Sept. 2011) mentions, “when you catch them live, you are in good hands … they are musically savvy beyond their years (average age 19) … each are consummate artists … there is a retro vibe at work here tampered with modern rock energy and sensibility … they please everyone from teens to boomers.”

34 Bliss is featured on the cover of Detroit Live (July 2011) and also on the cover of Inside Macomb (Jan. 2012). They’ve opened for Eddie Money at DTE in May 2011 and continue gain momentum by performing almost weekly throughout metro Detroit. Other notable venues include uDetroit Café and My TV20. The band often returns contributions to the community with concerts focused on filling special needs within the neighborhoods of the city.

In May 2012, 34 Bliss partnered with non-profit organization, Know Resolve (a youth suicide prevention group) and organized a successful rock benefit concert at the Emerald Theatre with all proceeds donated back to Know Resolve. The goal was to help the organization boost awareness of youth suicide, get people more comfortable to talk about youth suicide and find that it is o.k. to seek help. Other benefit shows included Justice for Lily as well as the educational support benefit, Music is Revolution.

Front and center for 34 Bliss is Rocquel, one of the most amazing lead vocal talents in Detroit & throughout the music industry. She brings everything to life from start to finish. She can reach full range across the entire vocal spectrum - sometimes Detroit-style rock and roll, sometimes down and gritty blues, sometimes she can be edgy, other times, soft and calm, and then all of a sudden she can bounce an up front attitude that projects “get out of our way, here comes 34 Bliss, rocking the house! Surrounding top vocals is a mix of creative 80’s lead guitar magic provide by Jonny Guitar, a high energy rhythm guitar displayed by Phil Blunt and the low key, down to earth bass of Mr. Patrick. The man in the middle, pulling it all together with high-energy power rock percussion and inflections of punk is Palmer Krehel on drums.

Lead vocalist Rocquel explains, “Our fans are awesome! Their feedback is so important and inspires us to be different without veering from straight-line rock and roll. Our music is very personal, passionate and projects momentum. “Learn to Fly” is one original example of where our fans find hope, worth and optimism. When you add intense, feel sexy songs like “Permission”, the fans come alive and want more.” Her get-after-it pride shines through as Rocquel explains, “when writing lyrics, they are based on my real life experiences. Every song becomes very personal and this passion of “feel good” rock keeps 34 Bliss venturing into new originals. And we have more to come. Stay tuned for our new releases including “Fatal Attraction” and “Top Gear 3-2-1” which are intense, get after it, game changers.”
