3:6west is the Calling of four multi-instrumentalists to blend powerful lyrics and engaging music into songs of life, praise and change. Theirs is an acoustic base layering various sonic textures to create songs of personal reflection, introspection and how an abiding faith can foster true change.

Biography

3:6west builds songs away from style, not into style as so many groups do. Our songs come not from a desire to create something, but rather from the knowledge that we build what our faith provides us. Songs -- from pop to rock to ballad to flk to spoken word -- find us; we don't find them.

Lyrics

If

Written By: Kurt Dieckmann

(V1)
if I were a painter, I'd color a canvas
reflecting the glory I see;
if I were a sculptor, I'd chip away stone,
leaving only your beauty;
if I were a poet, I'd gather each phrase as a lyrical portrait of grace;
if I were a writer, I'd craft a great story
that spoke of the love in your face;

(Chorus)
(but) Where can I shout, for I don't have a mountain?
Where can I sing, for I don't have a voice?
So many gifts that I can't even count them;
oh where do I start to rejoice?

(V2)
if I were a preacher, I'd inspire the people
and ask them to serve as your hands;
if I were a traveller, I'd pack up my bags
and spread Jesus' love through the lands;
if I were a teacher, I'd pass on your wisdom
to those who desired to learn;
i I were a prophet, I'd share my vision
that foretold your glorious return.

(Chorus)

(Bridge)
So many blessings bestowed upon me; such fascination in all that I see;
mercy abundant, and given for free...how can I ever repay?

(Chorus x2)

O My Maker

Written By: Jim Fischer & Kurt Dieckmann

(V1)
O my Maker, clear my eyes and let me see;
O my Maker, all the gifts you give to me...
o my Maker...

(Chorus)
You are my One Way, One Truth, One Life, You are my God!
You are my One Way, One Truth, One Life, You are my God!

(V2)
O my Maker, help my heart to truly know;
O my Maker, just say the word and I will go...
I will go...

(Chorus)

(Bridge)
All my faults You clearly see, yet You give sanctuary;
for all the wrong that I have done, You offer me Your Son...

(V3)
O my Maker, won't You come and rescue me?
O my Maker, I need You to set me free...
set me free...

(Chorus)

Where The Light Meets The Earth

Written By: Kurt Dieckmann

V1:
No place for her, or baby small,
No room except a humble stall;
No time to seek, no time to know,
No time two thousand years ago...

V2:
The world spins blindly still today,
No time to stop, much less to pray;
Still chasing dreams of merchandise
Without a thought for our soul's price...

CHORUS:
Lost in the dark, which way to go...
A welcoming sight, a candle's warm glow,
Heavenly shine announcing the birth
Calling you to where the light meets the earth

V3:
The churchbells ring, the faithful rise,
This day when love came from the skies,
The farolitos light the way
Like starts on that first Christmas day..

CHORUS

V4:
Our only hope so long foretold Lives in the light you now behold
This Child of Truth, this Love Divine,
Sing Alleluia -- it's Christmastime!

CHORUS

Rectify

Written By: Steele/Dieckmann

All the times I let you go
because of things I can't control;
Fear has got a stranglehold -
on life, on faith, on hope, on love...

Thought the flower fades
and the grass decays,
It's Your word that stays -
show me Your ways

Rectify my sight so I can see anew and find I've been set free;
Rectify my sight so I can live with clarity, feel Your majesty and most importantly: see the you in me...

Not proud of what the mirror shows
'cause it constantly reflect a foe;
The cataracts of my calloused heart
make it seem we're worlds apart,
I'm looking for a brand new start...

Thought the flower fades
and the grass decays,
It's Your word that stays -
Show me Your ways

Rectify my sight so I can see anew and find I've been set free;
Rectify my sight so I can live with clarity, feel Your majesty and most importantly: see the you in me...

Place the mud upon my eyes,
and let me see again;
place Your hand upon my heart,
and let me live again...

Rectify my sight so I can see anew and find I've been set free;
Rectify my sight so I can live with clarity, feel Your majesty and most importantly: see the you in me...

Relinquish

Written By: Jim Fischer

Although it's filled with fear and pain,
I want to give my life to you;
This fabric soiled with every stain,
I want to give my life to you.
A gift not worthy of your grace,
I want to give my life to you;
but at your feet, Lord, I would place...
I want to give my life to you.

Can't say I don't give grudgingly --
oh, it's the last thing I would do
but if surrenduring would set me free,
I want to give my life to you,
I want to give my life -- to you.

While I am blind, Lord, you give sight,
I want to live my life for you;
And in my weakness I delight,
I want to live my life for you.
For in myself I would not boast,
I want to live my life for you;
but in the one who loves the most,
I want to live my life for you.

I'm not real big on bended knee,
but I suppose it's overdue;
now more of you and less of me,
I want to live my life for you,
I want to live my life -- for you

Take my life and let it be
Consecrate, Lord, to thee...
