"It's 3 AM at Lipstick"

On a recent Saturday night, I took some out-of-town guests to introduce them to the vibe of the Lipstick Lounge. They had moved away from Nashville before the East Nashville club opened its doors and I was anxious to see if they would love it as much as I do.
My two girlfriends live within driving distance of San Francisco and go to bars there frequently, so I didn’t know what they’d think of "L.L" I need not have worried. Ten minutes inro our visit, the girls had bumped into old Nashville friends and made new ones. But what made the evening the most memorable was the music of 3 AM.
I don’t know where l was when these amazing three voices held court at 3rd & Lindsley for more than three years. I’m just glad I finally had the privilege to hear them in action.
Wendy Chrisropher and sisters Ligaya Hraba and Kim Hraba formed the group they call 3 AM. almost six years ago and are working on their second CD. In addition to their exquisite harmony, the trio also boasts songwriting skills.
"We wrote about 90 percent of the music you hear in our show and I think that’s pretty unusual for a little club like this" says Ligaya. In between original music, they supplement the set with some scorching cover tunes to get everyone on their feet.
The crowd at Lipstick Lounge really loves 3 A.M. says Ligaya. Be sure to get there early for a seat- We arrived late and the standing-room-only crowd wedged us in back by the cigarette machine. For a night of music you won’t soon forget, head east this Saturday for 3 A.M:s show at Lipstick Lounge. 4-21-2005 - ChurchStreet Freedom Press

Bio

Every once in a while, a musical group comes along that is more than just an act? it's an experience. That time is now. This soulful and sultry trio blend rock-solid harmony with R&B groove, prompting some to call them "Motown-country."

They began their journey as a group by performing around middle Tennessee as a cover act, but soon began writing together. Their music has broad influence, from country to soul to rock that is obvious in their writing style.

Kim provides the trio's country roots with a style that reinvents the term "torch singer." Ligaya is the soul of the ladies bringing an old school blues feel to their sound. And the down and dirty, in your face rocker is Wendy? this unique combination of styles has come together, creating a new vision in music. Their eclectic blend of funk rhythms with gospel-like vocals will leave you feeling like you've been to church but had too much fun!

If you're looking for easy listening, look elsewhere, but if you're all about the groove? Experience 3 a.m.
