"3 Feet Up 'Rock and Flower' BY DINO LULL"

Originally from Georgia but now located in North Carolina, the husband and wife duo of Chris and Victoria Hardy, better known as 3 Feet Up, hope to open the mind of the listener with fourteen singer/songwriter pop songs on their new release Rock and Flower.

Sweet, upbeat, and entertaining; 3 Feet Up introduce the world to their own brand of intelligent, quirky, and lyrically crafty music. Sometimes Hippie-esque and yet at other times funny much in the same way as B-52's or They Might Be Giants, 3 Feet Up unleash a truly unique sound.

The toe-tapping, good times groove of Rock and Flower cannot be denied, but the real grabbing force behind the album is the lyrics. Tackling subjects of free-thinking, the multiple intricate ironies of consumer society, and ecology; Chris and Victoria Hardy bring a creative sense of humor to their message.

From the lounge of "Truth is Cold" to the simply fun, sing-along of "Purpose," 3 Feet Up deliver a series of thought-provoking tunes on Rock and Flower without sounding too preachy. While a person could easily get caught up in the intense, educational message behind the lyrics, the skilled musicianship of the Hardy's deliver each track with feel good precision, thus giving the whole album a unique style all it's own. - Metro Spirit, Augusta, GA

"Big on charm & well written! I can't get these songs out of my head!"

"Tank full of Gas & An Empty Cup" is an entire CD full of catchy & very well written songs. It's thoughtful lyricism is influenced by the path of self enlightenment, compassion for loved ones & passion for Eastern philisophy. But let's not forget a touch of good old fashioned introspective sarcasm from the witty but clever mind of primary songwriter Chris Hardy. Chris clearly has his own great thing going as a player, singer & writer. Wife & Drummer Victoria Hardy's musical journey is at it's very start on this record. Learning how to play the drums only months before recording this album, Victoria has accomplished something very difficult quickly. Learning the art of music performance has helped her cope with loss in her life, her primary reason for learning the drums & music in general. The band 3 Feet Up is big on charm & depth but not ultra-polished like a Toto or Steely Dan masterpiece of audio engineering, it is more real world & sonically imperfect like most home recordings. Any raw spot is endearing for me & won't distract from the mission of this music. 3 Feet Up have big heart & sincere character that cannot be denied. These songs will stay with you long after you finish listening to this CD. This is one of my personal favorite recordings that I own. For the record, catching a live show in North Carolina was representative of this disc minus the bass guitar parts played by Chris who plays guitar live. If you want sonic perfection, buy a major label released product & don't complain. If you want a CD that you will fall in love with all of the songs, "Tank Full of Gas & An Empty Cup" is pure & it will be that rare find in your collection that gets stuck in your head. I love it! - Dana B - Amazon.com

Bio

Married couple Chris & Victoria Hardy are 3 feet up. They live in North Carolina. Chris sings & plays piccolo bass guitar and Victoria drums & helps with lyrics. Their music is similar in style to Morphine, XTC, Beck and other oddball stuff like that.
