3 Miles From Texas

From the 1970's to the present day the members of 3 Miles From Texas have been at the forefront of the independent music scene in their home state of Queensland and throughout Australia. After getting together for a recording project in 2004, and then a live/recording trio in 2006; the 3 core members wanted to put together an album and a band to produce a more dynamic sound and groove. There are so many influences from over the years that give 3MFT their unique sound. As producer/guitarist Rob Stewart says, "It's all about the songs.... For too long our peers and audiences have to put up with recycled vintage music from their contemporary performers and broadcasters. What we are doing is making music for people that want to have new music as part of their life soundtrack. This recording and our live shows will do just that - just have a listen and let it happen..."

3 Miles From Texas perform as a 5 piece - they all sing and play various instruments from guitars to cuatro, keyboards, bass and drums. The sounds and the styles come from the blues, latina grooves, contemporary folk, rock, jazz, - you get the picture - each song has its own space and pace.
