4 Axid Butchers

Italians on the paper but fairly international in their attitude, the 4 Axid Butchers started to hit the road in 2004. Their 300 concerts took them to play in France, Germany, Czech Republic, Austria and Slovenia, and have been the first Italian band to tour in South Africa. Pioneers of a new sound which ranges from psychedelic punk to a dirty funk with disco-dub digressions provided by the retro raids of a Farfisa Matador, the Butchers surprised more than one live: in the first part of the show, they focus everything on drums and percussions, supported by powerfull bass lines, then suddenly they change the stage set up and switch towards a sort of funky punk sound, where the freakytar replaces the timbales. With four vocals all along, the band brings up action and a loud whirl on stage, following the tradition of Mano Negra and squeezing an eye to Happy Mondays !!! Do not fasten seat belts and get ready to freakydance! "

BIO

2002
Alfredo leave the Italian ska band Nunc bibendum est after 5 years of sharing stages with many bands (Selecter, Skatalites, Doctor Ring Ding, New York Ska Jazz Ensamble, Roy Pacy, Skarface, Meganoidi and many others).
He comes back to the birth town and open a houseproject with some old friends.

2003
-During the long and boring days of the industrial northeast Italian area,Paolo,Gibo,Act e Alfredo,start to play for
the crazy wild parties of the houseproject an instrumental music inspired from Happy mondays,Mano negra and the
House music of the clubs in town.
In october 2003,the boys meet in the stadium of
Brescia in the magic years of Roberto Baggio,the new member of the band:Sandrí a dreadlock drummer/percussion player.
The band release the first demo "Freaky dance".
The underground scene in town start to be interested of the band and the number of fans grow more and more.

2004
With Sandrí as official member of the band, 4AB starts to take form the band as you can see it now. In february 4 axid butchers played in Italy 3 gigs with Regatta 69 (USA,Europe) starting a artistic cooperation with some members of the band that still today works.
In April is time for go after the alps,Slovenja,France and Germany. Two weeks before the French tour,the doctors of the main Hospital in Brescia order to bring Paolo in a Psichiatry Hospital for one month after a normal stress attack...this is Italy! The band plays two gigs in S.Lo and two in Paris.
The acoustic set in "Adele"Paris will be part of the cd "Somewhere live". Paolo will play his first gig "outside" in Germany (Immeldorf)...7 fans follow the band to celebrate his return. A new indipendent label in Brescia,QUICKSAND RECORDS,offers a contract to 4 axid butchers.
In september the band starts to record the first album.
In october break for Austrian/German tour in clubs where Nunc Bibendum est already played.Butchers rock on!

2005
In February 4AB signe a contract with the World-booking agency ROADSHOCK.
In june during a concert the municipal Police stop the performance of the band and ask the 4AB to speak to the fans
to keep the trousers on.
Waiting for CD and the Italian music burocrazy that keeps the project frozen,4AB playes 60 gigs. EmpTVsion is released in november,distribuited in Italy and Switzerland by Venus

2006
The band move to Berlin for a while.
The Italian press ignore the band,the audience grows...no time to play with ruffians.
In february play in Machinenhaus Berlin with Hog hoggidy hog from South Africa and Valium77 from Finland.
In August 4AB opens the first day of Radio Onda D´urto festival as special guest of Hormonauts.
Tour in austria/Germany in october.
At the end of the year 60 gigs again here and there.

2007
Radio Santa Fe (Argentina) plays emTVision as first choise in January,same as Radio Popolare Verona
And Radio onda d’urto.
Italian tour with the French electro duo Ania et le programmeur.
The first 1000 copies of "Emptvsion" are gone.
In june 4AB plays in BUNTE REPUBLIK VON NEUSTAD...first Italian band ever!
In October 4AB plays in POPKOMM a showcase of Roadshock in Duncker club.
November is time to fly south,or better...as south as is possible.
4 AXID BUTCHERS are the first Italian band to play in SOUTH AFRICA,11 concerts with the slovenian band BACKSTAGE.
