KING

For over a decade, KING has been establishing themselves as a musical movement that not only captures the hearts of Christian communities, but also compels non-believers to know and appreciate the love of God, making the need for their ministry in today’s society undeniable. The name KING establishes a vow of selflessness and humility as the group eschews personal glorification and ministers songs that encourage, deliver, bless, and save the soul by focusing the world’s attention on the one true KING of glory-God our father.

In 1998, fulfilling their God-given vision, DWayne Bennett and Anthony Randolph established a seven member all-male group in South Florida. Together they quickly acquired a reputation that allowed them to minister both locally and nationally. In 2000, the group then named BlesPraiz, locally released their first album entitled “Nu Way.” The album’s success granted them the opportunity to open for and perform with many gospel greats, including John P. Kee, Kim Burrell, Men of Standard, Papa San, A.J. Wright & A Tribe called Judah, Second Chapter, and the Miami Mass Choir.

In 2008, after ten years of music ministry, and the amicable departure of three members, God called the group to an even higher level of dedication. While re-defining their lyrical and musical direction, and strengthening the spiritual bond between the four remaining members-DWayne Bennett, Anthony Randolph, Avery Hicks, and Cedric Palmer, the group was inspired to change their name to KING to fulfill Kingdom agenda. In the same year, KING released their first radio single entitled, “Grateful”. It rapidly became a smash hit, gaining attention from people and radio stations all over Florida. Presently, “Grateful” is being played by radio stations all over the country.

KING is not only a great sounding group of singers, but individually, they are truly anointed minstrels. God has blessed every one of the four members with the ability to skillfully play at least one musical instrument. Serving faithfully in their respective local assemblies, each member also holds a leadership role, ranging from lead sound technician to minister of music. Individually, they have also worked with some of the music industry’s best over the years, singing with and/or playing for artists such as Yolanda Adams, Kirk Franklin, Kanye West, Donnie McClurkin, Dorothy Norwood, Kim Burrell, Carl Thomas, Byron Cage, Dewayne Woods, Queen Latifah, and many others.

Dedicated to reaching the masses with their very urban-styled music ministry, KING, who are producers themselves, has teamed with Grammy nominated, multi-platinum producer Cainon Lamb (Missy Elliot, Crystal Aikin, Keyshia Cole, Jasmine Sullivan), Grammy Award winner Harold Lilly (Alicia Keys-You Don’t Know my Name, Kierra “KiKi” Sheard-All I Am, Beyonce-Ego, Crystal Aikin-Love Him), and others to create their upcoming album entitled “The Reality Show.” This project is a brilliant composition of songs about real life situations, infused with creative lyrical concepts and laced with contemporary tracks.

Today, more than ever, their mission is not only to touch the believer, but to reach the unbeliever by stepping outside of the box, the four walls of the church, and the many boundaries set by man. Each of the members is very adamant about enforcing the group’s slogan, to make “REAL MUSIC for REAL PEOPLE in REAL SITUATIONS.” KING is a group of saved, spirit-filled young men that are radical for Christ, whose desire is simply to show the world that real life is all about loving on, living for and living with God.
