The best kept secret in music

Hailing from Louisiana, 4 Mag Nitrous mix up a hell of a hard rock gumbo on this disc. This 8 song self titled CD is chock full of heavy ass southern fried groove metal. Take a bit of Black Label Society, a dash of Rob Zombie, and a whole lot of testosterone soaked, good ole Southern boys attitude, and you get the picture. The band keeps the groove going, bringing the hook home on every track despite frequent syncopated passages. The vocals are clean and recognizable leaning toward the heavy side, but staying away from “cookie monster” growls. The first track, “Cypress Stumps and Flies” sets the tone that carries all the way through to the heavy as hell final track, “Guillotine”. The lyrical content throughout is largely in the hot rods and motorcycles vein, including an ode to the infamous hot rod cartoonist “Big Daddy” Ed Roth on the ballad(ish) “Skavova”. This is some very original stuff that kept my head moving throughout. I love music that grooves, and 4 Mag Nitrous has the heavy groove down cold. Look for good things from these guys. - Remus Radio

Feeling a bit camera shy

What began in early 2000 as a low rumble in the distance, somewhere along the staight shot from New Orleans to Baton Rouge has evolved into a gumbo of diverse musical influences and creative outlets. Motorcycles, Dragsters, Big Rigs - and the relentless South Louisiana sun and swamps A solid, "Southern Truckin" backbone in drummer Gabe Richmond provides a canvas for a 2 guitar Melodic Blues/Hardcore exploration from twin lead players Jimi Hudson and Jol Cangiolosi. All this energy is tempered by a growling low end thrown in by bassist Kib.Songs that are direct and to the point…
Unwilling to compromise - 4MAG NITROUS spent most of their time concentrating on developing their unique sound, until a local promoter yanked them out of the garage and into the New Orleans Club circuit, with debut gigs at The House of Blues Parish Room and the Howlin' Wolf that started a buzz about the band (which was starting to grow as a result of demo material being played on KLSU 91.1 and x104.9 radio stations.) Follow up shows in Baton Rouge at The Bayou solidified the 4MAG fan base, prompting the band to capture their live sound onto tape. After recording their CD, Release parties at The Bayou and at The Howlin' Wolf packed people in, and 4MAG NITROUS played almost every club EAST or WEST of the Mississippi River , strengthening this 100% Independent Band's loyal following. People started to take notice, and a few notable things have surfaced … The Discovery channel used track one of 4MAG's self-titled CD "Cypress Stumps and Flies" in their documentary series on West Coast Choppers' Jesse James, one of the most respected motorcycle builders/vehicle inventors or our time. The series is called "Monster Garage". Also, 4MAG NITROUS performed on LOUISIANA JUKEBOX, a nationally aired program show-casing music from Louisiana that airs on COX cable. This brings the band a to a new audience of people who may have never been able to catch their live shows…
