4PLAY IS THE NEW COMMERCIAL DANCE BRAND GROWING AROUND AUSTRALIA. It’s a Club Night, it’s a CD Compilation (Volume 1 & 2 out thru Ministry of Sound, Vol 3 4 & 5 and Anthems Vol 1 & 2), and it’s a national radio show on Nova with a TV concept in the pipeline. It’s dance music for the mainstream. JimmyZ has been a pioneer in
the mash-up/mix-up formula that is now popular on Australia’s Nova radio network (Sydney, Melbourne, Perth,
Adelaide, Brisbane) and worldwide.
4Play is now an official record label through Rajon and distributed by Sony BMG Music. 4Play is also host to regular club and bar nights in Sydney, with current and previous residencies at Empire Hotel (Kings Cross Sydney), Club Capitol (Perth), Jacksons (Sydney), Meche (Canberra), Church (Adelaide), The Brewery (Townsville), Palace (Coogee
Beach, Sydney), Star Bar, The Greenwood Hotel North Sydney, The Roxy Parramatta and plenty more venues. 4Play
is now a digital download available on iTunes (from May 2006). The Video 4Plays can be viewed regularly on Foxtel
Digital’s exclusive dance channel Club [V]. And there is stacks on the horizon and in discussion.
JimmyZ is resident club DJ on Sydney’s Nova 969, Brisbane’s Nova 1069 and Perth’s Nova 937, and hosts a show every Friday & Saturday night along with mixing the ever popular '4Play' mash-ups. He is heard on a weekly basis on
Nova network with plans to expand to more stations in the near future.
He has released and toured nationally with several dance compilation CDs - pioneering the Wild CD series Volumes 1-
14 (Central Station Records), 4Play (EMI/Ministry Of Sound) and Massive Volume 2 (Sony/BMG/Universal). He’s also branched out into other areas in recent times, remixing tracks for Melissa Tkautz, Tina Cousins, Robyn Loau, Arena TV and Zaab to name a few.
JimmyZ is has also consulted for Australia's exciting new 24/7 dance and urban TV channel CLUB [V]/Channel 803 (an
offshoot of the universally popular Channel [V] on Foxtel/Austar Digital), having established and developed the station
lauched in March 2004.
An ARIA Club Chart contributing DJ, JimmyZ compiles three of his own highly reputed dance charts on a weekly basis (Direct Dance, Pulse Urban and JimmyZ's Buzz Charts) to the industry magazine ‘The Music Network’, which all illustrate the best in new dance tracks, Urban tracks & Upfront non-released tracks released globally.
JimmyZ has helped establish an entire era of dance music in Australia. His career began in the 90's working as a
dance radio presenter on a number of radio stations, followed by work with record companies and the Australian Music Report before moving on to Wild FM. JimmyZ was one of the pioneers behind the whole WILD FM phenomena. Taking on the role of Music Director for WILD FM Sydney & Wild FM Brisbane, JimmyZ hosted the popular weeknights program Wild-21 Countdown and compiled/produced a nationally syndicated dance show which was distributed
voluntarily to dance / youth stations across Australia.
