Bio
Being born and raised in Mississippi has its benefits when it comes to music and culture. With such a rich and earthy musical heritage, Mississippi musicians generally create music with more passion and heart and it can be felt in the songs they write. Such is true with 51 South. Our music is down to earth, but rich with vibe and energy. Our shows are professional and clean with good audience response and participation. Our shows now are not complete without autograph sessions afterwards. We've signed everything from drumsticks to shoes. Our influences are rather diverse with our main influences being country artists such as George Jones, Merle Haggard, George Strait and other influences such as John Fogerty, Elvis, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Lynyrd Skynyrd. We are from working-class America with humble hometown roots in Mississippi. We are not riding an ego trip or anything like that. All of our members are tame and humble and very easy going. Our music is straight forward and fun! You won't be able to sit still.
