Dread Nation was founded in 2002 by Royce Thomas a.k.a Rotten Apple. It was first formed as a clothing line with him and his rap friends distributing t-shirts across the entire Bay Area all the way to LA. After 5 years of hard work awarness has grown and eyes and ears are on the lookout for Dread Nation from various sightings of there popular t-shirts. Now they are ready to put the music and a message behind the picture. Rotten Apple has managed to put together an allstar roster of some of his closest friends and family to create what is now Dread Nation Ent. / Block Rahsta Records. As a unit they are just as talented if not far more talented than your average or main stream rap group. The Dread Nation camp consist of 5/20 (Scrappadoshis and Beat-Mouth), Mac Wayne, Calibanned Soldiers (a group of young rappers and singers ranging from the ages of 10-20 with at least 10 members and counting), and last but not even close to least, Rotten Apple the C.E.O. slash Rapper. There are a large number of other artist and followers of the Dread Nation with Oakland, CA as a city backing this movement. As a whole they have been performing and creating music for over 8 years, while making valuble contributions to the Bay Area rap scene "on and off the court". Keep your ears open and your minds ready to take a journey with the Nation as they show us how to Goose and Geese and show us what the Rahsta style of living is like in Oakland, CA and the rest of the nation.
