Bio

The band was originally founded in 2003 by writer/guitarist Dave St.Cyr and writer/keyboardist Doland White as "the usual suspectz." At that time, Dave and Doland had written and recorded a successful CD. Invitations for live performances required more than a duo, and to meet the demand the band was born.

Over the years, "the usual suspectz" received a couple of face lifts (literally) with the addition of renowned drummer - John DiBernardo, and lead guitarist/vocalist - Harold Hawthorne. With the change in sound and image the band re-branded themselves as "55 North" in mid-2011.

When 55 North performs, they bring a mixture of heart pumping jump around songs, some tender slow dance hug her tight and hope she takes you home for some lovin' songs, and a whole bunch of "man, I haven't heard that one in a long time" songs. Oh, and yes, they toss in a few originals here and there from our CDs.

55 North’s style, musical approach and sounds are influenced by some the greatest bands of the last 30 years. Their repertoire includes songs from America, The Eagles, Johnny Rivers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Beatles, Garth Brooks, Jimmy Buffett, Bruce Springsteen … a variety and mix that keeps audiences on their feet asking for more!

55 North has a history of performing on the private party, corporate event, civic event and fund-raising circuit. However, the band members have a rich history of performing at venues like The Whiskey, The Troubadour, Glendale Civic Auditorium, and other famous Co Cal standards.

The Daily Breeze called 55 North “.. a great performance, with harmonies reminiscent of the Eagles.”
