"5th Ave Interview"

Why the name 5th Ave?

EQ:
We chose the name 5th Ave because "Its where you wanna be"...5th Ave in NYC is the best of everything shopping, music, fashion, food etc...and we feel like we one of the best at what we do.

Do you play live?

CJ:
We will...we are currently finishing up our album. When the opporunity presents itself to play live we will be ready. We would love to do a 5th Ave Unplugged on BET or MTV.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?

SL:
It's not a bad thing as long as people do not abuse it. We see it as an added benefit...another outlet. We have to adjust with the times but for most, what they don't understand, seems to scare them. But history has proven that people will eventually adapt to new technology.

Would you still sign a record contract with a major label?

EQ:
Definitely. We would sign a recording contract. However, our management company Richh Kiddz Entertainment, is seeking a label/distribution deal. That would work out better for all of us because we are a big family.

Who are your musical influences?

CJ:
We are into good music from all genres. We are soulful R&B artists-like Musiq, Jodeci, Brian McKnight, Dru Hill etc...However, We listen to all music from alternative rock, rap, hip-hop, neo-soul etc...

Favorite City to live and/or visit?

SL:
ATLANTA and NYC

5TH AVE
It’s where you want to be. ©

When you think of 5th Ave. you imagine…lifestyle, upscale, and classy. Atlanta has it’s own 5th Ave…and no, it is not some well-to-do shopping district. 5th Ave is a R&B group, which consist of EQ, CJ, and SL. These young talented vocalist have endured many obstacles, but yet, achieved so much in just a few short years. They have proven that with hard work, perseverance, and staying focused, goals can be accomplished.

Over the years the group has built a catalogue of songs, a widespread fan base, and have been featured on a number of stages as the opening act. With thousands of fans in attendance, they have blessed audiences with their blended voices at the Coca-Cola Building, The Roxy, Atlanta Performing Arts Center, and Georgia Techs Annual Fashion Show opening for the likes of Kelly Price. They have also sang background on Sam Salters album.

The group maintains a buzz by performing at and starring in showcases and music festivals in the Atlanta music scene. With songs like “Wanna Be”, a crunk r&b ballad, and “Give it to me”, a crazy party joint, 5th Ave has been able survive when most groups would have folded. “Still in love” and true ballads like “You are the one” keeps the ladies wanting more. They have the ability to make you want to dance one minute and make you fall in love again the next.

5th Ave, currently signed to Richh Kiddz Entertainments Management, is recording new material for the release of their yet-to-be-titled 2005 sophomore album.
