Who are the L.O.S.T S.O.U.L.S and what does it stand for?
L.O.S.T S.O.U.L.S- Living Off Society's Tension Surviving On Utilizing Life's Struggles

How did you guys come to form?
Two of the current members of the group Bane and Tefman grew up together and started the group back in 1998 while attending The University of Wisconsin Eau Claire playing football. The group has since grown into four members and has continued to evolve and elevate the sound of the L.O.S.T S.O.U.L.S.

You released your debut album "Soul Searching" in 2005, how was that received by people?
The album was highly anticipated amongst our following. After the release of the "Soul Searching" album we started booking more events and our fanbase has grown into one of the biggest followings in the state of Wisconsin. Our recent success has also been getting us gigs in the surrounding states such as Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, and Missouri.

You seem to have a more harmonious sound compared to a straight forward rap 16 bars and sample a chorus, how would you describe your sound?
We believe music is art. We do our best to paint a vivid picture of our individual lives through our music. We have all grown to learn that Nothing in life is "vanilla" so we feel music shouldn't be "vanilla" either. We try to provide the world with a refreshing original sound not the typical watered down Hip-Hop music dominating the radio stations these days.

Is the music you create inspired by anything in particular?
Life is the biggest influence on our music.

What is the Hip Hop scene like in Wisconsin
The Hip-Hop scene in Wisconsin is actually great!!!! There are numerous extremely talented artist in this area. One thing people don't realize is that the vast majority of the people here are from other places. The LOST SOULS as a group are all from various states. Artillery is from Arkansas, Bane is from St. Louis, Cillman is from Chicago, and Tefman is from Memphis. We all have traveled many paths in life and it has brought us all together in Madison, WI where we now call home.

In your hometown of Madison Hip Hop seems to be taking a bad rap with shows being cancelled etc. what are your views on this
The city of Madison has had difficulty accepting that Hip-Hop is a huge part of the lifestyle's of millions of americans these days. They seem to feel that Hip-Hop events only bring violence which is absurd!!! The L.O.S.T S.O.U.L.S have continued to fight for Hip-Hop in Madison and will continue to do so by promoting positive and safe events for the Hip-Hop community to attend in Madison.

Your currently working on your latest album "Bridge the Gap" which will be released in the Fall, can you tell us about this project?
The new project we are working on is called "Bridge the Gap". This is album many people feel will take the L.O.S.T S.O.U.L.S to the national stage. The album will feature three singles that have been tearing up the local nightclubs and radio stations.
1. Shawty Know
2. Rattle and Roll
3. Slyroglyphics

The album will have numerous guest appearances from multiple talented artist throughout the midwest in our attempt to "Bridge the Gap". We feel like the East Coast had their shine, the West Coast had their shine, The South had their shine, and now it's time for the Midwest to shine!!!

You have opened for some major acts in the past, how have the crowds reacted to you at these gigs
Whenever we are fortunate enough to open for national acts the crowds go crazy for our music. It's almost as if they were there to see us the way the embrace our music it actually a "humbling" experience. It gives us the motivation to continue to make our music and et's us know we are one step closer to that big break.

This year you were nominated for the "Urban Artist of the Year" award 2008 Madison Area Music Awards how was this like knowing your music was being recognised?
It's been a very long road and anyone in the music business will understand what I mean. It's a great feeling to finally be getting some recognition for all our hardwork. I always tell the fellas we must stay humble and grounded otherwise we may lose our passion and once that's gone your music means nothing.

Digital music is a major way for independent artists to start earning money are you looking to tap in to any forms of this media i.e. iTunes & the Ringtone market?
Our new project will be available on I Tunes and we will also be selling it on our Myspace page via Pay Pal, and SnoCap.

What are your plans in the lead up to "Bridge the Gap" being released?
Leading up to the release of the 'Bridge the Gap" album we will continue to do live shows showcasing the music that will be on the album. If anyone wants to checkout some of this music check us out on Myspace.
