Representing New Jersey with an East Coast grind that is unprecedented, up and coming artist 6FO is making waves across the Internet and the streets of the East Coast. With a sound that innately represents the streets and that shows clear influences from The LOX, Fabolous and 50 Cent, 6FO is one of the next big artists to blow on the East Coast.

An antithesis of the Rutgers University area of New Brunswick, 6FO was raised on renowned Delevan Street surrounded by violence, drugs, and prostitution. To save her son from the destructive lifestyle of New Brunswick, 6FOs mother was able to relocate in a safer environment and instilled the traditional values and culture of the Ghana, his parent’s birthplace in Africa.

Developing his sound, surrounded by a harsh environment, 6FO has made a name for himself with songs featuring Fred The Godson, Machine Gun Kelly and several others. While 6FO has people up and down I-95 riding to his music from Miami to up top in New York City expecting the Dream Catcher release, he remains humble and focused on his ultimate goal.

“That’s my prized possession,” 6FO says of his Dream Catcher project. “I put a lot of time and effort into this. I learned so much and I have taken everything that I learned and put it into this project, I think you can hear the progression and I feel like it’s my first time around with the way that I planned it. Its exactly what the title says, this project will catch my dreams.”

Now, having been featured on AllHipHop.com’s music section multiple times and having been featured on The Maguire, YaHeard.com and several other prominent blogs, 6FO is primed to take the game by storm for the second half of 2011.

“I feel like right now that’s my strong point via Facebook and Twitter. I started from the basics and through word of mouth, and as you can see my views have been going up steadily and now people know that I am worth the click and their time,” 6FO explains

"The Break Presents: 6FO"

Name: 6FO

Age: 24

Reppin’: New Brunswick, NJ

My style and/or skills have been compared to: The Game because of the raspiness in my voice, other than [him] nobody.

I started rapping: I started taking it serious around 2004. It was something that was done coming up in high school, the ciphers and watching it. I was somebody that liked the attention and who had the swagger and the aura. I perfected the rhyming and the craft. When I noticed everyone started liking what I was doing I fell in love with it. I just made sure I got better at it.

Standout moments have been: I’ve performed at big colleges like Rutgers. I’ve performed at club TNY in New York and Club Atrium in Atlanta. The Ghanaian picnic when it was in Orange County New York there was thousands of people there.

How I want listeners to feel after they hear my music: From the rip I want [NJ] to be recognized. We deal with everything that big artists have dealt with. You got Jay-Z in Marcy projects, Rick Ross from Miami all that they deal with we deal with too. I want to bring a magnifing glass over Jersey, over exit 9 and show them we got talent out here because it’s been a long time for Jersey.

I’d Like to Work With: The elites I feel that are doing good like Jay-Z, Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, even cross over, [and do a song with] Bruno Mars or Beyonce. I would like to do big records like that.

My goal in hip-hop is: I want to be respected for my talent coming from Jersey since hip-hop has shifted towards the south. I want to help those kids that are kind of lost understand that don’t have to be a bad guy or if they do wrong it’s not over you can still push for positivity.

I’m gonna be the next: I’m one of a kind

Bio

“He’s 6FO, No One Else!” Representing New Jersey with a grind that is unprecedented, up and coming artist 6FO has been making waves across the Internet and streets of the East Coast. 6FO is a native of New Brunswick, New Jersey, and he is of African descent, Ghana specifically. There is an obvious distinction between the Rutgers University area of New Brunswick and tough neighborhoods like that of the renowned Delevan Street where he was raised, surrounded by violence and drugs. From a young age, 6FO was assisting and supporting his family through their trials and tribulations, consequently preparing himself to overcome life’s obstacles. As a result of constant struggles, he found an escape in music and from there his journey on the microphone began.

Since the age of fourteen, 6FO has earned respect and credibility from rap battles and ciphers, to flooding his area with mixtapes. 6FO is now being featured on prominent websites including XXLMag.com, TheSource.com, AllHipHop.com and InFlexWeTrust.com among others. Youtube has contributed to his viral success with his videos exceeding 100k views. 6FO’s first project was titled “F” Being King, Just Tryna Do My Thing. His second release is DREAMCATCHER, which fans are praising for his noticeable growth. Both projects were sponsored mixtapes on Datpiff.com and DREAMCATCHER also received a co-sign from New York’s Power 105.1 host Charlamagne the God. DREAMCATCHER single “Pow Pow Pow” was in rotation on Hartford Connecticut’s radio station Hot 97.3 as well as on Internet radio. His most recent project is a collaboration album titled FLIGHT 732, with NJ artist E-9. His latest single “M.O.N.E.Y.”, which features E-9 and Waka Flocka, was recently co-signed by the one and only Funk Master Flex of Hot 97.

There is a distinct hunger in his voice when he raps and when you add his versatile approach and the substance in his music, he easily separates himself from a majority of emcees. 6FO finds time to make a personal connection with his supporters in person and through social networking sites. Thus far in his career, 6FO has performed in front of crowds at private parties, held mixtape listening and release parties and graced stages at various venues and colleges. With his cleverness, 6FO is able to grab your attention with his lyrics, word play, and his delivery. Rising above the limitations set by his surroundings, 6FO is a new face but, truly the future voice of hip-hop.
