"6 Hands Down one of the top bands in the Midwest"

The first time I heard 6 Hands Down I was in Memphis at the International Blues Challenge. I heard the last two songs of their set. They sounded great and the crowd reaction told me I had missed something special. This was confirmed the next year when this band returned to play in the IBC finals at the Orpheum Theater.
After listening to a couple of their CDs I realized that 6 Hands Down has a varied song list. Frontman Kevin Nichols can take you through a soulful ballad or a spicy shuffle with masterful licks. The keyboard of Jimmy Kaiser enhances each mood and he sometimes lends a hand at vocals. Rex Hambone and Dan Hawes provide the solid beat that allows this band to go musically anywhere it chooses. This band is tight!
I consider 6 Hands Down to be one of the top bands in the Midwest. The Kalamazoo Blues Festival is excited to add them to our lineup for this year. One gets the feeling that the best is yet to come for this band.

"Thanks 6 Hands Down for everything"

Goin' down to Memphis to see 6 Hands Down on the stage was the perfect moment of bringin' home the blues for the Capital Area Blues Society.
I just wanna state 6 Hands Down is where the party's at and gives a person a deeper shade of blue appreciation which is not a bad thing. Not winning the IBC left me with the blues but what wrong is alright as they sure beat the MTV blues.
Thanks 6 Hands Down for everything.
(My quote includes the names of several 6 Hands Down songs off of their two CD's).
