Bio

72 East has been together for 2 years. The trio, comprised of Tom Livecchi (guitar, vocals), brother John Livecchi (drums, percussion, vocals), and Tom Phillips (bass), were former members of the band OLP, which performed at venues such as the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ, the Knitting Factory in NYC, and locally in the Trenton/Princeton, NJ area. The band also completed their first professional recordings at Showplace Studios in Dover, NJ.

Thomas Livecchi takes up the guitar responsibilities in the band. He also writes much of the material the band performs. His influences are Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, and Jimmy Page. John Livecchi’s drumming is straight out of the playbook of such stick wielders as John Bonham and Keith Moon. He also shares the vocal responsibilities with his brother. While the Livecchi brothers come from a simpler, more blues based background, bassist Tom Phillips is a musician’s musician, whose idols include Chris Squire of Yes and John Paul Jones.

After a brief hiatus due to the rigorous process of college applications and school requirements, the band is back and more determined than ever to make great rock and roll.
