The idea for this band began in 2007 when Adam and Alex got together to record some original music at Alex's home. The two mixed acoustic songwriter influences with a classic rock style of guitar playing. Eventually a percussionist and bassist joined the band to add another dimension of music to create the unique sonic combination that can only be described as 7 Mile Drive. Since the full formation, the band has played in bars, clubs, and at festivals all around Massachusetts.
People always ask what the band sounds like and the truth is that they have a diverse set that cannot be put into a single category. They have been compared to groups such as Dispatch, Sublime, Weezer, Jason Mraz, Jack Johnson, Paul Simon, and others. The band itself is very song oriented, and many of the songs could be placed in different genres. The diversity of the songs has made giving the band a genre a difficult task, but they all work together to give a unique performance that is pleasantly erratic.
The band can play acoustically or electrically, can incorporate covers with original music, and usually likes to play sets between 45 to 90 minutes. Longer sets are not beyond the band, but they like to play more original tunes than covers if it can be helped.
