Biography

7th Sun has just finished recording their debut record, which has now been mastered, pressed, and ready for release. 7th Sun is a Los Angeles based rock group whose supernova musical roots run the gamut from classic rock, progressive rock, funk rock, alternative rock, and jam band. The high energy concept album is entitled From the Beginning, and the band's instrumental firepower, with lyrics that juxtapose both the uplifting idealism and the unknown darkness of modern-day culture, is driving this album into the subterranean rock market of the music industry.

JT Curtis, 23 years old, is the band's lead vocalist, lead guitarist, and chief songwriter. Armed with his Les Paul Gibson, Curtis' energetic guitar playing, singing, and burning desire to play music has turned heads from California to Austin, Texas to New York City. Curtis has also written production music for CBS television, and other music houses in LA and in NYC. Adam Kury plays bass guitar and his melodic influences and intense rhythms drive the band; he shares lead vocal duties. Kury also plays with the grunge band Candlebox. Stephen Quadros is the band's drummer extraordinaire; intensity, precision, and originality are just a few adjectives to describe his abilities. He also provides backup vocals. Quadros is known throughout the world as "The Fight Professor," a broadcaster for mixed martial art shows, including Showtime and EliteXC. Michael Russeck is the band's very talented young keyboardist, playing organ, piano and lending a hand with vocals. Russeck is also an accomplished painter and aspiring actor.

Steve Isreal, syndicated music critic reviewed the band's new album:
"7th Sun really rocks! With its timely, provocative lyrics and timeless gut-grabbing music, “From the Beginning” should launch 7th Sun into the big time. The debut album by this California band led by JT Curtis is brimming with gritty vocals, stinging guitars and heady, heartfelt harmonies. “From the Beginning” is a fresh new take on the classic roots rock sound of legendary acts like the Allman Brothers Band and Derek and the Dominos."

Lyrics

From the Beginning

Written By: JT Curtis & Colin Cronin

©2008 (ASCAP)

They Say there's no way (No there's no way)
Although there once was a way
They say you can't say (what you wanna say)
People once had something to say
They say that music (No it can't be played)
But it was once played everyday

Why can't we get it right
Why must we always fight
Lets get back where everybody's singing
Let's take it back from the beginning
(Let's take it back from the beginning)

They say that world peace (Will never be)
But it once was believed to be
They say that world war (Will soon be here)
There was once nothing to fear
Is there any, any, any, any, anyway
We could live in peace everyday

Why can't we get it right
Why must we always fight
Lets get back where everybody's singing
And take it back from the beginning
(Let's take it back from the beginning)

Big Man

Written By: JT Curtis & Colin Cronin

Big Man Telling Me All Your lies
Big Man Using Your hypnotic snake eyes
Sheep Following Him Straight Down the cliff
Takes from them and gives to his friends as a gift
And the bodies lie there lifeless and without goals
As if he’s Exorcized their souls

Big Man You don’t know what it’s all about
Big Man can’t you hear the people’s painful shouts
The people in the streets need a helping hand
Instead he looks overseas plotting revenge
What logical reasons can you count for
Over this stupid war

You turn on the TV and change offers its hand
You change the channel It ain’t no difference you say I’m only one man
And then you find you’re on the other side of the world
What did he send me here for
You missed the chance to say what you wanted to say
now the opportunity’s gone away

You think that people would be a little more realistic
Gave him an inch, he took a mile, Now people go ballistic
And now the men with the poster boards have said
it’s our chance to walk through the white doors
But you gotta be convincing with everyone around you
If you wanna get through

Big Man, I see the fear in your face
Big Man, a visionary’s come to take your place
He says it’s not of his concern
This poor boy is soon gonna learn
Nobody messes with the Big Man and when they do
Well, let’s just say he’ll look like a fool

My Time

Written By: JT Curtis & Colin Cronin

©2008 (ASCAP)

I've lived a lie
You can't say I didn't try
I've paid my dues
All I ever wanted was to play the blues

CHORUS:
When will there be time
when will there be time for me
When will it be
when will it be about me

Want a love that will last
Right now while I'm feelin' fresh
Everyone's had a chance
When is my time to dance?

CHORUS

Time's not on my side
And time just won't wait
When will come my time
Just before its too late

CHORUS

When will come my time
When will come my time
When will come my time
When will come my time
