Bio

Rangleklods doesn't care about boundaries of genre or what's considered good and bad taste. It's about the particular song, the specific moment of it – what fits and what's needed. Rangleklods
is something recognizable yet something new; instantly engaging and melodic, but experimental, ambitious and surprising. The work was initially sketched out in home country Denmark, but
became greatly colored by moving base to Berlin in early 2010, where routines were forgotten and the vast and eclectic scene sought out. Rangleklods's sound consists of recorded instruments and analogue gear alongside purely digital and intensely programmed patterns intertwining into audioscapes ranging from minimal to 'Wall of Sound'. Both in that regard and composition-wise Rangleklods points just as much backwards towards Pet Sounds and Doors as it does forwards, animated by ie. James Holden and The Field. Rangleklods says,

"The name itself is to me an expression of the musics integrating, playful and unbound nature. The emptiness of meaning in 'Rangleklods' has given me space to cross limitations and expectations, thereby reaching an expression that can be appreciated in many different ways by many different listeners."

When playing concerts Rangleklods breaks out of the stereotypical notion of laptop concerts by doing as much live as possible; singing, playing instruments and using various controllers. The object is thereby to lose total control and take chances to such a degree that mistakes – and how to creatively deal with them – often lurk around the corner, making the concerts better and more acute for the audience as well as Rangleklods.

"With a voice that at times reminded one of Iggy Pop's, Rangleklods put an intimacy into his pulsating rhythms. During his well composed musical trip he guided the audience through a strange universe, [...] but kept contact despite the high paced tempo. [Geiger Magazine, geiger.dk]

Although Rangleklods didn't make any tracks public until the beginning of October 2010 it has already created a dedicated following in Berlin's musical underground, especially in Kreuzberg and Neukölln, and resulted in several roaring live shows. Later this spring Rangleklods's first full album will be completed.

While living in Copenhagen and working in Berlin Rangleklods
is finishing his masters degree in Electronic Music (DIEM)
at the Royal Academy of Music - Aarhus, Denmark.
