Bio
Matt Simmons and Joe DeNoon first met at a restaurant in suburban Kansas City, where they both worked as servers. Recognizing a common interest in music, the two soon became friends and began sharing song ideas. Matt had just finished working on a song combining the 8-Bit sound with other instruments. He was looking for a musical sound that was just a little different but still had elements that would be enjoyable. Growing up during the era of many of these earlier Nintendo systems had produced a fondness for the games, as well as the musical sounds that had accompanied them. A little research revealed that writing these little 8-bit songs or "chip tunes" didn't require anything more than a certain program and a little bit of time. Joe loved the concept and sound and it wasn't long before 8-Bit Ruckus was born.
