8 ohm driver was formed in the winter 2000.

Starting in 1990 The singer/guitarist Deem has played over 100 shows in New York, New Jersey And Philadelphia with the Degenerates, and Sweatbox. He toured Europe in two bands from 1994-99 The Suneaters and Purple Skull and 8 ohm driver for about 5 years. Deem played over 200 shows in Europe during those years. He toured opening up for such bands as Jesus Lizard and The Damned in Belgium, France and 24/7 Spies in Holland and Germany. After returning to the states in 2000 He reformed 8 ohm driver with Mike Kinsey a prominent Drummer in the central New Jersey area in such bands as Chris Hartford Band, Normal Joy, Tommy Took Acid and Squalor. Mike sounds kind of like Bill Bruferd, though he would deny it, a discerning ear would agree.
Deem and Mike knew they needed not only a sight-reading Bassist but a soulful diverse
Musician. Enter Jesse Kessler a Bass instructor in Central, NJ with a B.A. in music performance (Upright Bass and Tuba) a well-known Bassist in such bands as
Hi Pro Glo and a Noble and Marks a Jazz quartet.
This explosive mix of Talent, experience and songwriting has brought
8 ohm driver to the forefront of the New Jersey Alternative Music Community.
This band is dedicated and like a perfectly tuned engine are
ready to excite and motivate all music lovers.
