8 Second Burnout

Music is like Fashion, things go in cycles and eventually "retro"
becomes cool and eventually becomes lame again. Lucky thing for "8
Second Burnout" that Punk has become fashionable once again. With the
likes of "Pennywise" and even "Jane's Addiction"
paving the way, Punk music has enjoyed a comeback that reminds me of
the
days of "The Pretenders", "The Sex Pistols" and "The Clash"

The music of "8 Second Burnout" encapsulates the spirit of the bands
from back in the day, and is spackled with reminiscent hints of some
newer bands doing punk. With blistering guitar riffs, a thundering
solid
bass, and straight ahead drums, the sound is simple yet powerful. They
even have a Balld or two. "Little Pearl" comes to mind - A song the
Bassist (Sean Murphy) wrote about his daughter. Truly a modern souding
pop/punk Ballad.

The Song "Timebomb" is classic powerful punk-rock! The band plays some
real neat games with on-beat/off-beat rythym tricks in this song, the
bridge section is very memorable, and tune is sure to be one that gets
stuck in your head.

Burned Out? Hardly! These guys are young and energetic. I had the
pleasure of assisting Dan from "Gross Records" in the post production
process of their demo EP. Dan did a terrific job of capturing the
essence of the band utilizing a very sparse recording strategy. We did
some minor sweetening in post. I can't wait to hear what these guys
come
