Bio

Comprised of all Northeastern University students, 8 Symphony creates a unique sound with a rare combination of an acoustic rock duo and a funk rhythm section. David Wirth(vocals, guitar, piano) and Tony Catanese(vocals, guitar) created 8 Symphony in the fall of 2005. Their song "Jump In The Water" was featured on a compilation CD entitled "Chill Out: East Coast Edition," produced by Quickstar Productions. In the summer of 2006, 8 Symphony was completed when they were joined by bassist Greg Nordholm and drummer John Meacham, both already accomplished Boston musicians. Their beginning's in the live music scene has seen 8 Symphony play at such venues as Bill’s Bar in Boston, The Middle East Upstairs and Downstairs in Cambridge, O'Brien's in Allston, Johnny D’s in Somerville, The Harbor House in Gloucester, After Hours at Northeastern University and Babson College. They are also working with "A&R Select," an independent A&R firm based in California. Recently, 8 Symphony went into the studio with Grammy-nominated producer Jack Gauthier, recording new full band tracks. Those tracks, along with 8 Symphony’s first acoustic album, The Old Familiar Fight, will be available this winter.
