8 systems was born on Friday the 13th in an old rehearsal space on San Jacinto St. in Austin, TX. All four members have come from different parts of the US to end up in Austin where the birth of musical chemistry and an uncompromising drive would take place.
A fire in an adjacent building devastated the rehearsal space where 8 systems was born. What does it mean when you know that 8 systems moved out just 4 days earlier? Was it fate? Or a message from a higher power? Though some people believe Friday the 13th to be an unlucky day, it seems as though 8 systems may have a little luck on their side.
An EP was released in October of 2005 and by December, two tracks were receiving airplay on two different local radio stations. Now in the studio, 8 systems is hard at work on their first full length album, which is due out sometime in the summer of 2006.
The fact that so many accomplishments have been made less than a year since the conception can be attributed to one thing. 8 systems has not only a serious chemistry and work ethic, but a drive to keep pushing through and breaking new ground that will outlast many of their Austin counterparts.
8 systems will not stop. They will keep moving, steadily gaining more ground and developing new fans and friends everywhere. This band will not be ignored. As in your face as they want to be and determined to succeed, this is 8 systems. An offer is extended to all to join the movement. The only question is, will you hang on and enjoy the ride, or will you stay home and miss this moment?
