8th Note Jazz Band

The 8th Note Jazz Band is the brainchild of jazz saxophonist/clarinetist Marvin P. Marie. Marvin brought together a few young, budding musicians who had the same passion and drive for the old school classic jazz genres. Inspired by jazz greats such as Frank Sinatra, John Coltrane, Ella Fitzgerald, Miles Davis, & Chick Corea just to name a few, their timeless music is reflected in The 8th Note’s performances.

The band consists of many talented musicians lead by husband & wife duo Marvin P. Marie, the wind instrument specialist and songstress Tiffany Mayne-Marie.

The band plays mainly Jazz (swing, blues, bossa nova, crooner, soul, funk, neo jazz, latin jazz). The band has also experimented in various other genres like R&B. This has given them a new twist and has turned them into timeless jazz pieces. The band’s style can be described as old souls trapped in young bodies wanting to set themselves free.
Tiff & Marv (affectionately called by their fans) are both International Awardees in the French music competition Les Cles D’Or (The Golden Key). Tiffany Mayne-Marie received a Golden Key in Jazz Vocals; and Marvin P. Marie received a Golden Key in Jazz Clarinet & Saxophone.
Currently, the band is working on several projects including original music, covers of jazz standards, and music videos that compliment The 8th Note’s style, “Where Music Meets Life.”
