"Gold Fields '96 Bulls Remix"

If you guys haven’t figured it out by now, let me be the one to inform you: WHEN IT COMES TO NU-DISCO BANGERS, 96' BULLS ARE HANDS-DOWN, ONE OF THE BEST IN THE GAME! They seem to produce dance-floor hits as often as Nicolas Cage makes bad movies. And for those who haven’t been keeping up on the actors movie career lately, that means a crap load.

Right after coming out with their stellar remix of PNAU’s The Truth, the boys of 96' Bulls are at it again with their edit of Gold Fields’ Treehouse. Don’t be fooled by the smooth chorus within the introduction, because this one’s a banger. With funky beats, in-your-face basslines, and energetic vocals, 96' Bulls have followed the banger-recipe to a T. It’s simply amazing how these guys find a way to this time and time again.

Just to illustrate the consistency in which 96' Bulls put out dirty remixes, I’ve included some of their older tracks in today’s bonus. One is a is a rehashing of Wombats’ single Tokyo (Vampires & Wolves), the other their re-interpretation of Snob Scrilla’s Heartbreak Scorsese, and the last one is a remix of Little Red’s Rock It. These songs came out before Upside Sounds existed, so I’ve been waiting a while to get these babies posted. Hope you like them. - Upside Sounds

"Treehouse!"

We just got our hands on the latest from mysterious Australia-based duo, 96' Bulls, and as per usual, their remix of Gold Fields’ “Treehouse” is simply smashing.

Starting off in classic Bulls fashion, the remix stays true to Gold Fields’ breezy disco-pop original. Eventually though, Armstrong & Jackson’s interpretation of “Treehouse” takes a pleasant, yet unexpected turn into disco-electronic-hybrid-dancefloor killer territory (too many adjectives? We didn’t think so either..).

The perfect track to sweaty-dance to, you know, with that pretty little lady you just met.. - The Getdownn

"‘96 BULLS."

I’ve had my eye on Australian producers, ‘96 Bulls, for a while now. These dudes are fantastic remixers. You may have heard their take on such hits as Little Red’s ‘Rock It‘ or Miami Horror’s ‘I Look To You‘. I’m currently waiting patiently for some original tracks but, thankfully, these remixes do just the trick. - Death Electro

"WOLFGANG GARTNER – COGNITIVE DISSONANCE (’96 BULLS EDIT)"

The duo of ’96 Bulls fired up the synths, rhythmic filters and chopped up Wolfgang Gartner’s “Cognitive Dissonance” to create a tune for all french house lovers world wide. Nothing more needs to be said, just experienced. - IMF Magazine

"THE KNOCKS – DANCING WITH THE DJ (’96 BULLS REMIX)"

The original “Dancing with the DJ” is in it’s own right a really fun upbeat track, but this morning I couldn’t be more excited to see the `96 Bulls Remix on my blog roll. Not going to lie, I found the original a little hard to mix in, and while there have been a few remixes since it was first released, none of them get me quite as riled up as the Bulls – and it’s a free download! - Remix 86

"Mirror on Shelf"

St. Lucia's phenomenal debut EP has been on repeat here at Neon Gold HQ since it flew domestically across the interwebs and into our inbox last week, with current single "All Eyes On You" still going very strong on our songs of the summer playlist as we bring you the exclusive premier of its music video above. So you can only imagine our excitement when a remix from the as-of-late untouchable '96 Bulls of that very track sidled up alongside said EP in our inbox.

Fortunately, Australia's own Jordan and Pippen don't disappoint, holding court by doing the source material the utmost justice in a glass-shattering alley oop of a remix that goes harder in the paint than Dennis Rodman on steroids. Furthermore, it's the perfect track to whet your appetite for St. Lucia's international live debut this Thursday in DC alongside The Knocks and ANR at All Things Gold 002 (for which tickets still flowing here), of which me may or may not have caught a very secret - and very awesome - sneak preview of last week. Get excited. - Neon Gold

"PNAU + '96 BULLS"

’96 Bulls are from Australia, this is no-surprise, they also like Ninja’s, which is a good thing to like. They’ve just done a remix of a new PNAU track. I’m calling this out as being a bit of a “banger” (retro, I know). I mean this as a compliment. Not my usual “320 Bang0r lololololol”. It doesn’t rely on “epic drops” (ok, it has a small one) or some obscene wobbly bit, it relies on old-fashioned stuff like progression and melody. More importantly though, it is something you can actually dance to. - Too Many Sebastians

"Slam Dunk Remixes from the 96 Bulls"

The mysterious production duo of 96 Bulls has been putting out some unbelievable remixes over the last few months. As a Seattleite, it's a kick in the gut that their music is so, so good--especially because their name celebrates the Chicago Bull's destruction over my Seattle Supersonics in 1996, a day that will live in Analog Giant infamy. Even I have to admit the name is clever, and if the Supersonics can move on (and skip town), so can I. Anyway, there's not much to say about the duo--being mysterious and all--but the remixes speak for themselves. I'm expecting big things from this duo in 2011. - Analog Giant
