The enigmatic presence of A Gecko Named Terrance was summoned to stage and from the very first note the equanimous music never stopped, literally it never did. Playing songs off their debut eponymous record, A Gecko Named Terrance, as well as new material they closed the evening with class. Gardner, the timid vocalist, sang some heuristic songs with smooth melodies as well as adding a layer of judicious guitar into the mix. Matt stood to the side of the stage jamming with the ebb and flow of funky bass lines and smooth flowing licks. Nick held his guitar insidiously with his boots on his peddle rig blasting out beautiful sonic landscapes riddled in a concoction of comely effects and esoteric solos. All the while, the multi-layered incendiary percussionist, Kam, took you for a wild ride filled with many symbols, bells, toms, bongos etc. It is safe to say that man never stopped playing the drums for a single second, maybe just one but that’s it. Formed in January of 2013 in the Kansas City area, AGNT is a tight group with an unusually strong chemistry. With musical influences ranging from rock to classical, jam bands to blues, this foursome draws deep on a love of music. Created out of a unique musical connection, the Geckos sprang onto the scene and quickly took hold. Known for their solid original musical style, AGNT has been steadily gaining a following. Intriguing lyrics painted on a canvas of solid instrumentation, the Geckos make their presence known at every performance.
A Gecko Named Terrance has been together for two years and has recently played Kansas City and Lawrence area venues like: The Tank Room, The Record Bar, The Granada, The Riot Room, The Czar Bar, and the Uptown Arts Bar. Often booked to open for touring acts, AGNT can hold their own on any stage. All material performed is an original AGNT composition. With explosive energy and charismatic stage persona, the Geckos are a feast for the eyes as well as ears.
