This hard rocking country band, comes from the coalfields of Southern West Virginia and Eastern Kentucky. They are a different breed of band, a mix of honest country and unyielding rock and roll, this band is hard to define, and that may be the way they prefer it. It seems to make no difference to them; as long as your listening. Singersong writer Roger Charles and drummer Teddy Murphy decided to form A Mile to Nowhere after playing in several bands together. The idea was simple enough:. Play music for the sake of playing music and relating to their fans. After a couple of early lineup changes, guitarist TJ Murphy and bassist Timmy Tackett entered to complete the lineup.They were formed in 2012 and have recorded two CDs. The first being titled Beer Bottles and Bloodstains and the newest CD produced by David Hall and recorded in Nashville at Blackbird Studios and First Avenue Studios in Franklin TN titled Still Running. This CD is filled with songs about life, love, heartbreak and escapism; their record sounds like a honest small town story. This CD provided the first professional video the group did, the song was Stop Running Away. The group is writing and working on a new CD to be released soon.
