"On The Rise Interview with A.R"

Part of being a hip hop head is finding the new sh*t to show off to your friends. That’s how I feel about today’s On the Rise interview with rapper A.R. I hadn’t heard of this kid yet, but when I listened to his single, Let it Rock, I knew he was the truth like Paul Pierce. I had to go back and listen to his other music online. Black America is a really great song, and the video is on youtube so go watch it BLACK AMERICA – A.R, but first peep out the interview with the man himself below. We got to ask him about the current state of hip hop, how long he has been an MC, his future, and more! Peep his video for Let it Rock, and jump to the interview! - Bill Gates

Still working on that hot first release.

Born in Harlem, New York City, inspired at the early age of 9 to start writing. He explains, “ I wrote poetry because I needed a way to escape from the everyday problems that we all face in the world. Eventually, my poetry grew into songs and gradually I started to fall in love with Hip Hop”.  Almost immediately he started working towards a body of work that people all over the world could relate to.

His music is described as inspirational and fun while at the same time insightful. “ Music is about experiences. Some of the experiences that I talk about in my music are meaningful and fun. My goal is that all of my listeners gain an experience through my experiences expressed in my music in some way, shape, or form. My music will always reflect who I am.”
