A River of Trees

Based deep within central Maine, A River of Trees’, Luke Martin, is the creative energy behind this musical engine. Taking influence from jazz, psychedelic rock, folk, and, lo-fi punk, the journey began when Luke picked up guitar in early adolescence. After years of practice and few attempts to start bands, Luke began writing and recording rough demos during his junior year of high school. By 2015, Luke self-released a live acoustic performance on Bandcamp under the name “A River of Trees.” During this same year Luke joined the most influential collective to date, Endless Love Universe. Playing on his love of psychedelia and jammy improvs, ELU played many shows as a unit before scheduling made future gigs difficult for Luke. Upon cutting back on the live performances with ELU, Luke joined “Astro Planet” in February 2018. While “AstroPlanet” did not play on the same jammy improvs as ELU, they did incorporate a more rock based approach to songwriting. However, by the fall of 2019 Luke decided to take a break from the band to focus on his own music. This departure gave him the courage to begin finishing the collection of songs he had built up and by November 15, 2019, A River of Trees had released the first four song E.P. Since the release of the EP, A River of Trees has released the full length LP "Life", the EP "Whatever You Want It To Be", and is currently working on the follow up album "INFERNO” set to release April 24, 2020.
