"Grim Name, Good Band"

“With their EP The Castration of the Idiot...we heard a polished band crafting songs that blended the best of Metallica with Jimmy Eat World. Think “Enter Sandman” meets “The Middle” — and throw in some Dick Dale surf shifts and post-punk stylings while you’re at it.” - Dan Kadison and Chad Werner - NewsWhistle

"A Very Loud Death"

The dark brooding controlling menace of A Very Loud Death sears around the ears akin to a cauterisation – yet beneath the brutal clinic precision lays emotional fragility that finds the listener wiping tear from the eye. - Tim - Emerging Indie Bands

"A Very Loud Death - Lanterns"

From EP. 29 - "Glorious Album." - James

"Appropriate for all times...very layered and textured...not over the top...it's beautifully moody- there is a bit of beauty in the darkness of A Very Loud Death." - Jacob - Lone Frequencies

"Review - A Very Loud Death - Lanterns"

Short and sweet. Well, now I kinda want to say a little more. First of all, these fuckers are deceptive. They walk you in with some cool ambiance and follow it with some whispery/emo-y alt-metal that starts dipping into mad laughter. The vocals become a tad unhinged. The music becomes a teetering crooked carousel. Hardcore hollering makes a brief appearance. More whispering. Reverb. Crunching guitar. Swinging drums. The bass just snuck into my right ear and got a little too close to my brain. Was that just some Dick Dale-esque guitar noodling?? Now they're marching. Yet, most of this thing is... mellow? Is it the reverb and effects that are confusing me? This recording is a mystery. I think this is what I was trying to get at before. You're gonna think you've heard this before, but it's richer and more interesting. Subtlety is power. - GAD Punk Zine

"A Very Loud Death - Lanterns - Album Review"

"...what they are is rather cool, emotionally riveting post-metal/progressive rock...the trio provide some powerfully illuminating music...it is as haunting as it is beautiful..." - Pat "Riot" Whitaker

"Chris Edge of A Very Loud Death Talks to Rock Wired"

"The album is a dark, moody listen that combines primal punk energy with a more nuanced, progressive rock aesthetic." - Brian Lush

"A Very Loud Death, Lanterns"

"...the best way to describe A Very Loud Death’s latest offering is that there is enough dramatic loudness to wake up empathy in a stone-cold psychopath." - Kayla Hutton

A Very Loud Death is a three piece band from Atlanta, GA. Described as de-constructive post-alternative, post-punk, surfer, alternative-metal, and hard rock. A Very Loud Death often mixes pop arrangements with art rock, progressive rock, grunge, stoner rock, minimalism, r&b, proto-punk and noise.

After Patchwerk Studios engineer Luke Campolieta heard an early demo of the band in early 2015, he offered to record the group for free. The band agreed and recorded and released their first single Do Away in a digital only format. Working again with Luke Campolieta in 2016, A Very Loud Death followed up with a 6-song concept EP The Castration of the Idiot. The EP included the two tracks, Mary and The Fleers, which were the first of the band's music to receive radio play.

On September 19, 2017 the band released their debut, full length album Lanterns.
