9:58pm… 2 more minutes until close.

“I’ll be right with you, sir!” the barista exclaims as she wipes down the mixing station from the last customer. 

“Sorry,” the barista directs her conversation back to her customer. “What is it you do?”

“I make music.” The hooded, young male says plainly with a smile on his face. “The type of music that everyone can listen to.” His phone begins to ring.

“Where can I hear some? I’m always looking to hear new music!”

“Look me up.. I go by AY. Just remember the name AY...” he says as he picks up his phone..

“How about you sir?” She turns her direction to me. “What can I get for you tonight?”

“Just a medium, black to go please.”

A few minutes later while staring at the steam from your coffee...it hits you. 

Who is AY?

His story is shared by many, and although it is not unique, it’s outcome will be.

A suburban kid, left to his own devices, chose the wrong decisions along the way but sought a purpose found his outlet through hip-hop. AY spent his much of his youth burning bridges, leaving him nobody close in which to confide but talked to anyone and  everyone as an alternative. He talked to the guy as he was standing on the platform waiting for his train. He sought advice from gas station attendants. He sparked random conversations at coffee shops.. This is what got him by, this was who listened.

Years have past since the likes of Andre 3000, Lil Wayne, and Eminem have first blazed through the crowded industry leaving the path that few have been able to follow. Rising from the ashes a new entertainer is forming. One that’s crossing over and incorporating the sounds of other genres to reach the ears, minds and hearts of all those that will listen…

… and they will listen. With an undeniable presence, the responses will be many, but all will share one desire.. MORE.

With his heart in Boston and his mind set on the worldwide stage, AY is emerging as a top-tier hip-hop artist with fresh and witty lyrics unique to the untapped Boston area.

AY is your coffee shop’s late night regular who buys his coffee before spending all night in the studio.
