Andrew ‘A.1. Yola’ Mayson
Stlye: Hip Hop, fusion of R&B and jazz,, ‘Down South Fabulous’ , extremely entertaining to the ladies and a versatile music genre.

A.1. Yola was born Andrew Mayson in Atlanta GA and is a product of the projects of Atlanta. Yola was raised by his grandmother due to his mother’s drug addiction. Even though his grandmother gave him love and affection Yola had to learn to become a man virtually on his own. Yola spent all of his formative years in College Park and attended Banneker and North Clayton H.S. At the ripe age of 22 Yola found freedom expressing himself writing while incarcerated an Dodge State Prison for one (1) year. During that time Yola had a chance to retrospectively look at his life and started writing about his life experiences and his goals in life.. Since being released Yola have spent all of his time pursuing and shaping his career as a Rap Artist.
Yola was introduced to the Rap industry in the mid 90s through Zebo (manager of Xscape and Jagged Edge). At the time Yola was in Artist Development and was released due to a surplus of talent being fitted for So So Def Recordings. Discouraged but not defeated A.1.Yola continued to write and perform showcases around Atlanta until he hooked up with Ax (a.k.a. D-Tel laid down Dream Eyes featuring Killer Mike and lead voice on V103s Gregg Street’s six o clock theme song and handled by Jerry Clark). Through the collaboration, some heavy hitters in the ATL Rap game contributed to A.1. Yola’s first self titled CD.
Yola’s self titled CD, ‘A.1. Yola’ offers a versatile mix of krunk club music to jazzy flows for the ladies. The CD also has a cross over tune just as exciting as the Hip Hop tunes. The CD features some of the hottest names in the ATL music game contributing to it, including, the Grammy nominated producer El Rock from Jermaine Dupree’s camp who produced Usher’s “Yeah” (along with Lil John) and “What the hook gon be”, Sanchez producer of A.S.A.P. for TI and Pittman a.k.a. Big Pit a producer for Bone Crusher.
A.1. Yola is Currently working on a 2nd CD that will raise the bar on the rap game. A.1. Yola will be one of the hottest Artist to hit the scene since 50 cents in the very near future. If true versatility is what you want A.1. Yola is the Artist your looking for
