Bio

Piles of scribbled on paper spread across the floor, words scratched out and replaced by something more poetic. There are boxes and boxes of these papers somewhere between several houses. Few of these words will ever be heard, some have been heard for years over the sound of an acoustic guitar or in some other musical form. Drawn from life experiences, hope set on a savior, let downs, good times, and problems, these words are songs, prayers, and therapy. Built around the songs of Gerren Fish, Aardvark Park is a straight-forward, garage, americana rock-n-roll band from Northeast Georgia. Gerren and Garth Rivers have been performing in coffee shops, bars, restaurants, and churches for several years around the south east as an acoustic duo performing each other's songs, dining at truck stops, gaining memories of “Nanner Pudding” enthusiasts, questionable waffle house waiters, and many great touring musicians and bands. Each with a background in the Atlanta and Athens Music scenes. (Gerren: Winston Audio, Taking Lottie Home) (Garth: Garlington) (Rusty: Soulpatches and the second bananas, Rocketships and Tangerines) It was time to turn up the volume and recruit some talent. It didn't take long after jamming with Rusty Townsen on drums to realize he was a much needed piece to the puzzle, add Chris McConnell on Bass and the picture is complete as a well put together rock-n-roll band of like minded individuals. Gerren and Garth's heartfelt humble set list explodes into a rock n roll hay-maker punch with the volume cranked, the cymbals crashing, and the low end steady. From wide open songs like "You'll Be Surprised", "Everyday Grind" and "Nothin' To Do" to slow, danceable tunes like "Georgia Don't Know" and "Sarasota" every song is delivered with the passion, joy or pain of the lyrics. With several shows under their belt, Aardvark Park is looking to the future to bring more opportunities to play loud, good-time, positive, heartfelt tunes for the general public in any way possible. With new tunes and adding Garth's catchy melodies to their set, Aardvark Park presents a fun, diverse, rock-n-roll live show.
