Los Angeles, CA (Top40 Charts/ LaFamos PR) Promoting his passion for compassion through an appealing clash of inspirational lyrics combined with infectious beats and memorable melodies, is pop singer/songwriter Aaron Childree. Filled with messages of hope and love, Childree's latest album Above the Norm shines a light on a refreshing side of pop music. His music unites the masses in a call for action, to combat social injustices and increase awareness in all age groups and demographics. Childree's music has quickly attracted a faithful fan base across the country and continues to rise as Aaron stands up for equality.
Hope and love packaged in a fun and entertaining way, the Above the Norm album ignites a feeling of positivity and philanthropy at the same time. In Childree's words, living above the norm means "living to your highest potential and bringing others with you on your way up." "The song 'Above the Norm' is very special to me because I feel like it sums up what I want my music to be," Childree explains. Produced by Brooks Paschal and written by the prodigy himself, the album's lead single "Above the Norm" is introduced with heartfelt piano notes followed by Childree's genius melodies, which elevate the song's energy as synths and electric guitars light fire to the beat. He also has an accompanying music video for the song, which was directed by Chris Skeene and features clips of the four charities he worked with (Feed My Starving Children, Together We Rise, My Refuge House, One Hundred Apparel). With a sweeter tone about universal love, the single "Love is Contagious" featuring Carly Jo Jackson is another smash for Aaron as it showcases his artistic and vocal versatility.
Growing up, Childree always felt a connection with music. He began singing as soon as he could and joined the church choir as a toddler. By age eight he had taught himself to play the piano, while he also began to compose and write his own songs. The young multi-instrumentalist also played the trumpet and by high school Aaron was a self-taught guitarist as well. Childree has long been a self-motivated individual and now produces his own music and has won songwriting contests for his writing abilities. Artists who have influenced his sound are pop heavy-hitters such as John Mayer, Ryan Tedder, and Jason Mraz to name a few. Earlier this year, he performed at the 2013 GATE (Global Alliance for Transformational Entertainment) convention in Los Angeles, CA. Childree's tracks have been heard on several radio stations including WPRK in Orlando, WMNF in Tampa, Upstream Radio in Los Angeles, CACH Radio in Vancouver, and ATP Radio in Australia.

Nowadays with most of the hottest musicians topping the charts with sex, money and bling it seems as though it is a lot more easy to be controversial. It may take guts and courage to be just that but on the flip side of the coin it is way more courageous to be different from the norm. Aaron Childree is definitely going above the norm with his musical career as he is spreading positivity, hope and inspiration for others to reach their fullest potential through his memorable melodies and infectious beats. Not only is Aaron Childree giving back but he is already giving through the time and efforts he is putting towards charities such as Feed My Starving Children. Aaron Childree is front and centre when it comes to fighting the social injustices in the world and this is the way he dares to be different in the music industry. FERNTV talks to Aaron Childree about relaying the right message amongst the youth of today rather than wrong one.
FERNTV: Please give us an example of one of the social injustices you primarily focus on or hold true to your heart that you would like the masses to act upon?
Aaron: One of the big ones for me is world hunger because we are living at a time where we are able to make huge strides in solving this problem. There is enough food in the world to feed everyone. So we just need to leverage new technology to find ways to get the food to those who are in need. One organization that is doing a great job with this is Feed My Starving Children. They bring food to the malnourished all over the world and have worked with nutritionists in order to figure out the most efficient ways to do this. Feed My Starving Children has lots of volunteer opportunities available for those who are interested and there are many other organizations who do the same.
FERNTV: What is your true perspective on the music industry? Is there too much darkness and are we relaying too much of the wrong message to the youth today?
Aaron: I want to start off by saying that people are allowed to make whatever kind of music they want, that's the beauty of creative expression. Music has an amazing power to bring people together and to create an experience that is greater than the sum of its parts. Because of that power, I believe I have an obligation as a songwriter to be very aware of the lyrics, themes, and ideas in my songs. I would much rather bring people together around a message of love and hope than anything else. And music that conveys a positive message can be just as fun and catchy and danceable as anything you hear on the radio. I would love to see the industry as a whole move more in that direction.
FERNTV: What is it like to not have worked with one charity but four charities?
Aaron: I had the privilege of partnering with 4 different charities for the Above the Norm music video (Feed My Starving Children, Together We Rise, My Refuge House, and One Hundred Apparel) and it was extremely eye-opening. I learned more about the different issues these organizations are involved with than I had ever known before and was really excited to get involved in whatever way I could. It can be depressing learning about all the injustice in the world but there is an amazing and exciting hope in the fact that there is so much we can do to make things better.
FERNTV: What told you or what moment was the biggest turning point for you in that you wanted to pursue a musical career?
Aaron: To be honest it's difficult for me to point to one moment because I have been singing since I could talk. I grew up singing in the church choir and taught myself piano and guitar along the way. I've always known I wanted to do something with music and that passion and love has continued to grow and has taken me to where I am today.
“I define above the norm as living to your highest potential and bringing others with you on your way up.”-Aaron Childree
FERNTV: Let us know what takes place at the Global Alliance for Transformational Entertainment?
Aaron: Performing at the GATE conference this year was a huge honor. GATE is an organization that strives to use entertainment media and the arts to make the world better. They bring together artists, musicians, authors, filmmakers, etc. who are all trying to convey a positive message or call for positive change through their art form.
FERNTV: Tell us a little bit about Above the Norm?
Aaron: Above the Norm is the title of my newest album. I define above the norm as living to your highest potential and bringing others with you on your way up. My goal was to create an album of fun, catchy pop songs that are encouraging, empowering, and also challenging. I'm so proud of how it turned out and I'm exciting to be able to share it with everyone!
FERNTV: Can you tell us of of how your music has the changed the live of a young one?
Aaron: There was a young lady who left a comme - Fern TV
