Biography

Growing up as the second child in a family of seven children, Aaron was always driven to pursue dreams. "Faith and family were exemplified as core values by our parents. There was never any doubt what was most important to them," says Aaron. His parents made big sacrifices to give each kid opportunities to pursue their dreams and interests. Aaron attributes his success to a lot of hard work, his family and friend's support, and God's grace. Aaron's dad taught him to play a few songs on piano by the age of 8, and some guitar by the age of 10, but Aaron had a hard time sticking with them because he was more interested in the drums. "I remember looking at pictures of drum sets and just being fascinated by them. To see a kit in person was so exciting to me as a kid." For the next 10 years that was what Aaron pursued, forming a band with his best friends called Echoing Eternity, and also drumming at his church and youth group. "We were really blessed in that band to get to play all the places we did. We went to the UK a couple times, and played all around Texas. It was lots of fun. And our friendships really grew because of that whole experience," says Aaron. "Now looking back, I like having the background of drumming because I think it gives me a broad perspective as a writer and worship leader." Aaron left the group in 04 and finished earning his Marketing degree from the University of North Texas in 05. After a 3 year break from doing music, Aaron got the opportunity to start leading worship for a church in Denton, TX called The Bridge. "If you had told me in 05 or 06 that I would later be a worship leader, writing songs again, and recording an album, I would have looked at you like you were crazy. I had no interest. I was burned out with music and more interested in climbing the corporate ladder. But God has a way of turning our hearts in the right season." Since 2007, he has led that congregation while continuing a career in the financial industry as a business-to-business relationship manager to independent financial advisors. In 2009, with the encouragement of some friends, Aaron set out to complete and release an album with the songs he had been writing over the past couple years. The debut album, Freedom Calls, has been well received both locally and internationally. Aaron's passion for God and for leading worship can be felt in each song. He has a unique way of engaging people as a worship leader.

Freedom Calls is not only a fresh sound in a flooded market....it's a cry of the heart. Aaron's desire is to see freedom released in people's lives. Freedom from sin, from bondage, from mindsets that hold us back and tell us we're not worth anything. Freedom to be who God has called us to be, and to do what He's called us to do. Freedom Calls began as a self produced project, but soon gained attention from Dove and Grammy nominated artist Alan Villatoro (Integrity Music Latin). Alan was very impressed by the quality of writing and Aaron's musical talent. The instruments were produced and recorded by Aaron (with some help on guitar leads from good friend Ryan Kirk), and the vocals produced and recorded with the help of Villatoro at TVP studios in Houston. Villatoro also mixed and mastered the album. Simply put, "This guy is good," says Alan. Throughout the album, Aaron’s prolific writing gift shines through. Songs like Thankful remind us that we don't deserve what God has done for us. Offering tells us that our lives should be an offering to Christ, because we already belong to Him anyway. The title track, Freedom Calls, perhaps carries the most powerful message of hope for us all. In our brokenness, weakness, and failures, true freedom is calling out to us. It's freedom through the cross. Freedom through Jesus. We don't deserve it, we can't earn it, but God offers it to us nonetheless. "For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His love for those who fear Him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us." (Psalm 103:11)

Lyrics

By The Cross

Written By: Aaron Logan

(verse 1)
My life belongs to You
And I’m here to lay it all before You
My world is in Your hand, Your perfect plan

I’ve come to give You praise
I love when You teach me Your ways
My heart is in Your hand, all I am

(chorus)
By the cross we overcome
You gave us Your life, You gave us Your life
And by the Blood we overcome
You gave us Your life, You gave us Your life

(verse 2)
Our lives belong to You
We’re here to lay it all before You
Our world is in Your hand, Your perfect plan

We’ve come to give You praise
We love when You teach us Your ways
Our hearts are in Your hand, Your loving hand

(bridge)
By Your grace
By Your mercy
By Your favor we overcome

Freedom Calls

Written By: Aaron Logan

(verse 1)
You are drawing on my heart
I have heard and felt the call

(pre-chorus)
And You lift me up
In Your hands of strength
The cry of my heart
Is to know and love Your name

(chorus)
I want to be free
Want You to use me
I want to give You everything I am
I want to live for
Your plan and destiny
To see Your greater purpose fulfilled in me

(verse 2)
I have set my mind above
You are healing me with love
Though I stumble and may fall
I will answer the call

(bridge)
Freedom calls from the other side
Freedom calls from the other side
Freedom calls from the other side
We will come, we will come

Offering

Written By: Aaron Logan

(verse)
I was lost You found me
I was empty You filled me
I was broken You healed me, Lord

I’ve returned to seek You
I declare I need You
All my life depends on You, Lord

(pre-chorus)
In Your grace will I rely
As You show me life

(chorus)
All my life is an offering now
That You have me, now that You have me
I will lift my voice to sing now
That You have me, now that You have me

(bridge)
And Your face
I will seek, Lord,
I will seek, Lord
Only You can satisfy
And I pray
Your will be done, Your will be done
Have Your way in my life

Your Love Is Everything

Written By: Aaron Logan

(verse 1)
Here I am
With my burdens in my hands
I need to see You

You are near
You've been drawing on my heart
It's all I can do

(pre-chorus and bridge 1)
To lay it all down
To stand this ground

(chorus)
Your hand is lifting me
Your life is all I see
Your grace has carried me
All of me, Your love is everything
Your words are life to me
Your heart is all I seek
Your grace has carried me
All of me, Your love is everything

(verse 2)
Lord my life
Is in the palm of Your hand
I lean on You

In Your ways
You direct my steps
It's all I can do

(bridge 2)
I lean on You
I lean on You
I lean on You
I know that You'll come through

I lean on You
I lean on You
I know that You'll come through
You always do, You always do

I believe that I'm gonna see
Everything You have in store
Everything You have in store

Set List

Well typically we wouldn't do a "show", but rather would lead worship at a church, college group, or youth group. In which case we would do songs familiar to that church, and then add in one or two of our own. For other shows, if we're opening for another band we would do whatever number of songs is asked of us. Usually for opening gigs that would mean 4 songs or so. For a headline it would mean about 10. For covers it would depend again on the venue. For churches it would be Hillsong, Desperation Band, Chris Tomlin, etc. I have also covered Coldplay at a coffeeshop gig before.
